dhānyam S. ( ധാന grain). Corn, grain, esp. നെല്ലു; രസധാ. rank corn, നീരസധാ. meagre corn. ധാന്യവ൪ദ്ധനം lending grain for seed at usurious interest. ധാന്യവൃദ്ധി first-fruits, നിറ. ധാന്യസാരം grain after threshing, പൊല്. ധാന്യാമ്ലം sour gruel, വെപ്പുകാടി.

dharmam S. (ധ൪, G. thesmos) 1. The law and its observance, രക്ഷിക്ക തന്നേ ഭ്രപന്‍െറ ധ'മായതു VyM.; ധ. വിരിഞ്ചനാല്‍ മനുവിനാ യ്ക്കൊണ്ടുക്തമായി Bhg.; വേദവിധിയാം ധ'ത്തെ മാനിക്ക Bhr.; കല്യാണമാ൪ഗ്ഗധ൪മ്മങ്ങള്‍ ധ'ങ്ങള്‍, മററല്ലാതത് എല്ലാം അധ. അല്ലോ നൃണാം Bhg.; നാലു വക ധ. ഉള്ളില്‍ ധരിപ്പതു (സത്യം തപോ ദയാത്യാഗം); ഇത്ഥം ചതുഷ്പാദങ്ങള്‍ ധ'ത്തിന്നു Bhg.; വ൪ണ്ണധ൪മ്മങ്ങള്‍ caste-rules. തങ്കലേ ധ'മാ യ വേദശാസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നും അഭ്യസിയായ്ക Vil.; അമാത്യധ. dhīraǹ S. (ധര്‍) 1. Steady, determined. കുതിരകളുടെ ധീരനാദം Nal. deep, dull sound. 2. (ധീ) clever, wise; അല്പധീരന്‍ Nasr. po. ധീരത firmness, fortitude = ധൈ൪യ്യം.

dhanvāvụ S. A bow = ധനു, f.i. ഗാ ണ്ഡീവധ. Bhr. holding the bow Gāṇḍhīva. ധന്വന്തരി (the sun as travelling on an arc). N. pr. the physician of the Gods. ധന്വി an archer, Bhg., (= ദനുഷ്മാന്‍).

dhārāḷam S. (ധാരം q. v., Te. C. T. M.) Profusion. ധാരാള രൂപമാം പുഷ്പവ൪ഷങ്ങളും Nal. showering down incessantly. ധാ' മായി പ്പെയ്ക vu.; മുതല്‍കൊണ്ടു ധാ'മായിച്ചെലവഴിച്ചു TR. liberally, prodigally. ധാ. വെക്ക to become a spendthrift. ധാ'മായിപ്പറക to speak fluently, enlarge upon; (also ധാറാളം mod.)
