ner̀i T. M. (Te. excellence, fr. നിറ? Tu., നെര്‍ത straight) 1. nār & നാറു 5. (നാറുക ?) 1. What is hair-like (തലനാര്‍), stamina of flowers, thin roots നാരും വേരും കളക; (see നാരായവേര്‍). 2. fibres of bark (f. i. ചടച്ചി —, ചണനാര്‍ etc. exhib.), or coir (കെട്ടുനാര്‍ & ഞാര്‍കെട്ടു green palm-leaves used for tying cadjans in thatching); strings in mango & other fruits; strings & ropes from fibres. 3. = ഞാറു 1. q. v. നുരി കരുനാര്‍ തിരിഞ്ഞു വരുന്നു (Palg.) നാരന്‍ fibrous, hairy. നാര്‍പട്ടു, (B. നാരന്‍പട്ടു) bark-cloth, used by some Brahmans as dinner dress after bathing, നാ. കെട്ടുക to wear it.
