nēšyār = നൈത്യാര്‍, f. i. ലക്ഷ്മി നേ. MR.; (prh. നേശി fem. of നേശന്‍). നൈ see നെയി.

nairāšyam S. (നിരാശ). 1. Despair; V1. obstinacy പിടിക്ക, ഭാവിക്ക So. 2. abstaining from hope or desire നൈ. എ ന്നതു നല്ല സുഖം Bhg. നൈരാശ്യക്കാരന്‍ vu. a head-strong person.

nirubam S. (നിരൂപം) An order, letter സര്‍ക്കാര്‍നിരുപം TR. (നിര്‍): നിരുപമം S. incomparable നി'മശരീരം AR. — നിരുപമന്‍ God. Bhr. നിരുപാധികന്‍ S. attributeless, God CC. നിരുപായം S. impracticable. നിരുഭ്യം see ഞെരിഭ്യം.

Nārāyaṇaǹ S. (നരന്‍). The son of man; Višṇu, praised with the formula ശ്രീനാ'ണായ നമ:, hence നാരായണായെന്നു

nastamē (loc.) Naked, ന. നില്ക്ക, നടക്ക V1., (= നഷ്ടം 3. or നാസ്തം).

nayōbāyam S. (നയം 1.) 1. Political conduct. 2. a decoction of ginger, cumin & Pavonia root. B.

naṇgūram (P. langar?) An anchor, Pay. ന. ഇടുക, താഴ്ത്തുക to cast anchor, എടു ക്ക to weigh anchor.

nāḍa (T. നാടാ, Mahr.) 1. A tape, ribbon, belt. കൈനാ. the gripe of a shield. കടവിന്‍റെ നാ. V2. a wharf or key. 2. a shuttle V1., നാ. നെയ്വാന്‍ വശം ഉണ്ടു TR.

navarātri S. A feast of 9 days, as observed by Sakti worshippers, (ത്രിരാത്രി to others), called വിദ്യാരംഭം, as the time for beginning to learn (in Oct.), ന. പൂജ കഴിഞ്ഞി ട്ടു വരാം TR.

noṭṭa M. 1. = ഞൊട്ട (in C. നെട്ടു). The cracking noise of the finger-joints. 2. smacking the lips, pressing a vesicle. 3. appetite, slaver. കേള്‍ക്കുന്പോള്‍ കേളുനന്പിയാര് കാണ ന്പോള്‍ നോട്ട് കേളു prov. No.; ഓരോരുത്തരെ ക്കൊണ്ടു നുണയും നൊട്ടയും പറക vu. = നുണ 2. നൊട്ടുക to do, നൊട്ടല്‍ action (loc.) B. നൊട്ടെങ്ങാ So. = ഞെട്ടാഞെടുങ്ങു Impatiens.
