pa/?/a T. M. aC. (Tu. para, Te. paṇ & pra fr. പഴു) Old. പഴം T. M. (C. Tu. Te. paṇḍu, haṇṇu) 1. ripe fruit. 2. ripe plantains (hence ഫലം?) 3. in Cpds. പഴങ്കുന്പളങ്ങാ a. med. പഴക്കായി So. fruit almost ripe. പഴക്കുല a bunch of ripe plantains, (see പ ഴു — 637). പഴങ്കഞ്ഞി canji from last night. പഴങ്ങാഴക്കു a half Ā/?/akk/?/. പഴഞ്ചീല old cloth. പഴഞ്ചൊല്‍ a proverb പ'ല്ലില്‍ പതിര്‍ ഉണ്ടെ ങ്കില്‍ prov. പഴഞ്ചോറു boiled rice of yesterday, also പഴ യതു; (പ'റു തണുത്തുളളു GP.)

peṭṭaγam T. M. (see പെട്ടി). A box, chest പെട്ടികള്‍ പെട്ടകങ്ങളും Nal. ചാപം പ ട്ടുകള്‍ പൊതിഞ്ഞിട്ടു വെച്ച പെ. KR. ചൂര്‍ണ്ണംപെ. തന്നില്‍ നിറച്ചിങ്ങു കൊണ്ടുവാ CG.— അറപ്പെ. VyM. a drawer, തന്‍റെ പെ'ത്താക്കേണം prov. must shut up.

paṭṭasam = പട്ടിശം. A kind of spear പ. നല്ല ഗദകള്‍ Mud.; ഖള്‍ഗപട്ടസബാണ ങ്ങള്‍ DM.

pāδi T. M. (= പകുതി). A share, half പൊന്‍പാ. പകുത്തു തരുവാന്‍ TP.; അതില്‍ പാ. പണം TR. half that sum. കൊണ്ടതില്‍ പാ'വി ല prov. നാടാലും പാ. കൊടുത്തു TP.; ആദിപാ തി ഒടു No. or പാററ Palg. = the best seedlings are produced from the earliest fruits of the jack-tree, from the fruit of a half grown areca-palm & from that of an old cocoanut-tree or palmyra. — പപ്പാതിയാക്ക to divide in equal halves. പാതിക W. a portion of landed property (Tdbh. of പാദിക). പാതിക്കാരന്‍ who goes halves with another, പാതിക്കൂററുകാരന്‍. പാതിച്ചു by halves. പാതിച്ചവണ്ണം അടക്കേണം CG. at least somewhat. പാതിപ്പാടു a half. — എന്‍സന്താപോല്ക്കും പാ' പ്പെട്ടു Nal. is half gone. പാതിപ്പുടവ 1. a woman's cloth in halves. 2. a double cloth. പാതിയാക to be nearly destroyed, ചങ്ങല പൂ ണ്ടു പാദങ്ങള്‍ ചെങ്ങി അരഞ്ഞു പാതിയായി CG. പാതിരാ midnight. പാതിവാരം B. a tenure by which half the produce is given to the proprietor.
