B. a fruit with the flower attached, empty pod. 3. dampness, moisture (=പുകില്‍). മഴ പെയ്തു പൂല്‍ അടങ്ങിയിട്ടില്ല No. = നനവു മു ന്പേയുള്ള നനവോടെത്തിയില്ല the rain has not penetrated the soil. പൂല്‍ ഉള്ള സ്ഥലത്തു കുമിള്‍; വിത്തു ഇരുപൂലില്‍ ആയ്പോയി No. has sprouted only partly (the field must be resown). met. ഇന്നിന്നവനു നല്ല പൂല്‍ അല്ലേ = No. he thrives. 4. a crop എത്ര പൂവ്വലുള്ള നിലം, ഇരു പൂവ്വലുള്ളതു Arb. puḷḷuvaǹ (പുള്‍). N. pr. A caste employed in medicine, മന്ത്രവാദം, singing at snake-groves the പുള്ളുവപ്പാട്ടു accompanied by the tap of the പുള്ളുവക്കുടം; the females (പു ള്ളുവത്തി) are midwives in the No. (61 in Taliparambu Talook).

paḍāčči (പടര്‍) Spread immoderately; superfluous extent. പുര പ. ആയ്പോയി grew too large, too bulky. ആയാള്‍ പടാച്ചി No. = തുന്പില്ല.; പ. പറക B. to coax, menace. — പടാ ച്ചിക്കാരന്‍ a flatterer. — (Tu. പടാവു exaggeration). — comp. ചപ്പടാച്ചി. പടാവു ( = പടവു?) in വെണ്‍ പ. pēna (Gond. penk fr. പേ? penates V1.) 1. A ghost, spirit അമ്മ മരിച്ചു പേനയായി കൂ ടി TP. പേന കൂടി the cause of children's illness f. i. കൊതിപ്പേന കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു said of infants that wish for every thing. The malady is cured by an offering in the chamber of the ancestors പേനെക്കു കൊടുക്ക. 2. a miser of the worst description.

pūrṇam S. (&പൂരിതം part. of പര്‍). 1. gnashing — കടുകടപ്പല്ലും കടിച്ചു KR. (in anger), പല്ലുകടിച്ചലറി AR. (in attacking), പ'ക്കയും കണ്ണു ചുവക്കയും Bhr. പല്ലു കടിപെട്ടുപോക locked jaw, f.i. in epilepsy, with dying persons, etc. പല്ലുകുത്തി 1. toothache = പല്ലുനോവു. 2. picking the teeth പല്കുത്തി = പല്ലിടക്കുത്തി. 3. knocking out the teeth നിന്‍റെ പ'ത്തി ക്കളയും (a threat). പല്ലൊക്കയും തോക്കു കൊണ്ടു കുത്തി TR. പല്ലൊക്കക്കുത്തി കുഴിച്ചു TP.
