pūnduγa So. (fr. പൂഴു). To sink in the ground, വിശിഖം പൂന്തി ChS. പൂത്തു, കുഴിപ്പൂത്തു So. a grave. v. a. പൂത്തുക (പൂഴ്ത്തുക) 1. to press into ചവിട്ടിച്ചളി യില്‍ പൂത്തും MR. (a threat). മുട്ട എഴു തി നെല്ലില്‍ പൂ a kind of charm; suspected persons must take a certain egg out of a heap of rice, when the thief will be detected. ചക്രം എഴുതി ധനുമ്മേല്‍ പൂത്തേക്ക Mantr. തീയില്‍കൊണ്ട കായി പൂത്തി (to cook it). 2. to bury ശവം എത്ര ആഴം കുഴിച്ചിട്ടു പൂ ത്തിയതു jud. — also met. നേരിനേ പൂത്തു, ക ളവു പൂത്തു (vu. — ത്തി) പറഞ്ഞു = മറെച്ചു. pōrkuγa T. aM. (Te. prōgu to heap). 1. To wrap (= പൊതിയുക), to cloak പോര്‍ത്തമരത്തുകിലാം തുകിലും RC. 2. to soak palm-leaves = ഓല പൊതിര്‍ക്ക. VN. പോര്‍പ്പു (T. cloak) swelling as from stripes. പോര്‍ച്ചി N. pr. f. (Tīyatti).

pustaγam S (പുസ്തം smeared, പൂചു = എഴുതുക). A manuscript, book, chiefly written on paper or printed; (ഗ്രന്ഥം on palm-leaves). നാലഞ്ചു പു. കൈക്കല്‍ ധരിച്ചു SiPu പു. എഴു തുക; ചേര്‍ക്ക, കെട്ടുക etc.

paraṇḍuγa T. M. (Tu. paranka) To scratch, scrape. പരണ്ട (= പരള) 1. what is depressed, low. ആ കോഴി പ. is short-sized. പ. ക്കോഴി a jungle-fowl. 2. a small plant. ചങ്ങലന്പ. Cissus quadrang. നിലന്പ. Viola enneosperma. (പരം): പരതന്ത്രം S. dependant on others. പരതീരം the other shore.

pališa 1. No. = പരിച, പലക, A shield വാളും പ. യും of Nāyars KU.; പലിശത്തട്ടു a thrust of. പലിശക്കയത്തിന്ന് ഓര്‍ ഓല എടുത്തു TP. cavity of shield. പലിശക്കാര്‍ body-guard. 2. (ഫലം?) interest on money (on rice പൊലു) generally 10 pct. തികപ. (=നേര്‍പ. 583), even 12 pct. (മര്യാദപ്രകാരമുളള പ.), മാസപ്പ. The കാ ലപ്പ. yearly interest; when from കാണം, it amounts to 5 pct. (അരപ. f. i. അരപലിശ കണ്ടു 7½ ഇടങ്ങാഴി നെല്ലു പ. പിടിച്ചു doc. MR.) or 2½ pct. (കാല്‍. പ. even മാകാണിപ്പ.) paid in rice at the rate of 5 Iḍangā/?/is for 1 fanam. Formerly for each fanam mortgage-money the yearly interest was 1 നാഴി നെല്ലു (= 4 pct.). പലിശമുടങ്ങിക്കിടന്നുപോയാല്‍ VyM. interest not being paid. പലിശക്കൂററു & പലിശമണിക്കൂററു (1) noise of the shield പലിശ തുടെക്കമര്‍ത്തുTP. പലിശ മടക്കം (2) a deed of mortgage in which the rent of the estate transferred to the mortgagee is equal to the interest of the loan പലിശ മടക്ക ഓലക്കരണം W.
