(Tdbh.; പണ്യം) Valuables, jewels, that may serve as pawn (often = പണയം), as പൊന്‍പ. etc. 2. articles in general, ഉഴവുകൊണ്ടു പോയാക്കേണ്ടുന്ന പ. ഇവന്‍ PT. an ox; തിന്നുന്ന പ. & തീന്‍ പ. eatables. ദീവില്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതില്‍ പ. കൊണ്ടു വന്നു, ഓടിയില്‍ ഉള്ള തീന്‍ പ. കിഴിപ്പാന്‍ TR. the produce of the Laccadives = ചരക്കു (in Te. is paṇṭa produce, crop fr. പണ്‍ = പഴുക്ക). 3. (Tdbh. of ഭാണ്ഡം?) the crop of birds, stomach, craw തീന്‍ പ. V1.; ചത്ത ഉടുന്പിന്‍റെ പ. MM. (fr. പള്ള.). പണ്ടം അറുതിയായി (1) the sum advanced on a pawn with the interest due equalling the value of the article, = is forfeited. പണ്ടകം = പണ്ടംകൂറുള്ള ദ്രവ്യം V1. പണ്ടകശാല & പണ്ടശാല (T.) = പാണ്ടിശാ ല a storehouse, magazine. പണ്ടക്കായി, പണ്ടപ്പന see under പന. പണ്ടപ്പരപ്പു B. lying about like utensils; extensiveness.

pōkku T. M. C. (പോക). 1. Going, passing off (as നേരന്പോ.). പോ. മുട്ടിക്ക to shut up in a fort etc. നാരിമാര്‍ പോക്കിനെ തടുത്തു CG. prevented their going. നമ്മുടെ ജീവനും പോക്കുണ്ടാമേ CG. shall die. പോക്കടു ത്തു death is at hand. പോക്കു വെച്ചു ruin has set in (= ക്ഷയം തുടങ്ങി). ഫലത്തിന്‍റെ മ ര്യാദപോലേ ഉളള പോക്കും കഴിച്ചു പാട്ടം കെ ട്ടി TR. the customary deduction from produce = കഴിപ്പു . 2. way വെളളത്തിന്നു പോക്കില്ല no outlet. പോക്കൊരു കാണിമാത്രം കോടീ ല്ല നരേന്ദ്രനു Brhmd. did not swerve. പോക്കൊ രുമിച്ചു തേരില്‍ ഏറി Brhmd. കാരണ ന്മാര്‍ പോയ പോ. old ways or customs.

paraṇḍuγa T. M. (Tu. paranka) To scratch, scrape. പരണ്ട (= പരള) 1. what is depressed, low. ആ കോഴി പ. is short-sized. പ. ക്കോഴി a jungle-fowl. 2. a small plant. ചങ്ങലന്പ. Cissus quadrang. നിലന്പ. Viola enneosperma. (പരം): പരതന്ത്രം S. dependant on others. പരതീരം the other shore.

paryaṇgam S. (പരി, അഞ്ച്). A bed; Tdbh. പല്ലങ്കി.

pāččōt/?/t/?/i, old പാല്‍ച്ചോററി T. a. med. (പാല്‍ച്ചോറു q. v.). The Lodh tree, the bark is used in dyeing, Symplocus racemosa or Ruellia secunda GP 64. പാല്‍ച്ചോ. ഇടിച്ചു പി ഴിഞ്ഞ നീര്‍ a. med.; also ചെന്പാ., ചുവന്ന പാ (also മലങ്കമുകു). വെണ്‍പാ. pori T. M. Te. (C. puri fr. പൊരു പൊരേ). 1. What is parched = നെല്‍പൊ രി f. i. ദധിമധുഘൃതപൊരിപൂജാദ്രവ്യം KR. 2. parching തീയില്‍ കാമനെ പൊരിചെയ്തതു Anj. 3. a spark തീപ്പൊരിപാരം എഴത്തുട ങ്ങി CG. (T. also പൊറി). പൊരികാരം B. potash. പൊരിച്ചുണങ്ങു see ചുണങ്ങു. പൊരിയവില്‍ small biscuits. പൊരിയുക T. M. (C. Tu. pottu). 1. To be parched, baked അഗ്നിയില്‍ വീണു പൊരി ഞ്ഞു Bhr.; തീയില്‍ കിടന്നു പൊരിഞ്ഞു മറികയും, പാററകള്‍ പോലേ പൊരിഞ്ഞു ചത്തു CG.; വെ യിലത്തു പൊരിഞ്ഞു പോരി vu.; വെയില്‍ ഏററു ചുട്ടുപൊരിഞ്ഞു CG. 2. to crackle, pop പൊരം പൊരിഞ്ഞൊരു കൊളളി CG.; അരിപൊരിയും പോലേ വെടിവെച്ചു TP.; നിറന്ന ദീപം പൊ രിഞ്ഞു മങ്ങി, അഗ്നി പൊട്ടിപ്പൊരിഞ്ഞിടത്തൂട്ടു Bhr. (bad omen), എന്‍റെ മേല്‍ തീ പൊരിഞ്ഞു sparks flew on me. 3. (T. പൊരുക്കു what goes off), to become disconnected പല്ലു പൊ രിഞ്ഞുപൊയി came out. so തലനാര്‍ = കൊഴി ഞ്ഞു. വെട്ടാത്ത നായര്‍ക്കു പൊരിയാത കുററി prov. പൊരിക്ക 1. So. to fry, parch നെല്‍ പൊ രിച്ചു മലരാക്കി = വറുക്കുക. 2. to eradicate, മരം transplant നെല്ലു, chiefly കുററി പൊ. prov. പൊരിച്ചു നടാന്‍ ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത കൃഷി MR.; പറിക്കുന്നു പല്ലും പൊരിക്കുന്നു വേരും KR.; സാലം അന്യോന്യം പോരിച്ചവര്‍ തച്ചുതച്ചു AR. VN. I. പൊരിച്ചല്‍ parching; great heat, covctousness. II. പൊരിപ്പു coming out, getting loose. പൊ. കല്ലു the decomposing layer of loose stones above the work-stones. പൊരിപ്പന്‍ So. a frying pan.
