A worm, grub, mite, vu. പുശു — Kinds: ഓല —, കുട —, കന്പിളി —, അരി —, തേക്കന്‍ —, തൊപ്പപ്പുഴു etc. 2. silk- worm (പട്ടുപു.). 3. see പുഴുകു. I. പുഴുക്ക, ത്തു T. M. C. (huḷu, C. Te. pučču, Tu. puringu) To be eaten or infected by worms, putrify, rot കാലും കയ്യും പുഴുത്ത ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗ ന്ധവും SiPu. (of leprosy). അരിഞ്ഞു കളഞ്ഞു കാച്ചൂതും ചെയ്ക എന്നാല്‍ പു. യില്ല a. med. (cancer). പുഴുത്തു പോക; പുഴുത്ത (vu. പുയി ത്തി) നായി vu. No. (abuse) etc. VN. പുഴുപ്പു being worm-eaten; rottenness. പുഴുക്കടി a skin-disease, chiefly one produced by the first rains, വിഷവെള്ളത്താലേ കാ ല്ക്ക പുണ്ണുണ്ടാകുന്ന പു.; also ringworm കുള ന്പില്‍ പു. കടിച്ചു TP. of a bull, see തല ച്ചൊറി 394. പുഴുക്കടിക്കായി fruit of an Asclepias, employed to counteract it. പുഴുക്കരണം a time in each fortnight, unfavorable to sowing (astrol.) പുഴുക്കുത്തു canker, the damage trees suffer from worms, caterpillars, etc. പുഴുക്കുത്തുക, പുഴക്കേടു. പുഴുക്കൂടു a worm's nest, (of പച്ചപ്പുഴ used as bag for പുതുപ്പണം), a cocoon. പുഴുക്കൊത്തി the hoopoe. പുഴുക്കൊല്ലി a vermifuge Justicia nasuta, Rh. (Aristolochia T.) പുഴുത്തീനി the fly-catcher MC. പുഴുത്തുള worm-bite, ആമാടെക്കു പു. നോക്കേ ണ്ട prov. don't find fault with. പുഴുനൂല്‍ raw silk. പുഴുപ്പല്ലു rotten tooth. പുഴുപ്പല്ലന്‍ m., — പ്പല്ലി f. having decayed teeth.

pāḍaγam T. M. S. 1. An ankle-ring, worn by women (പാദകടകം?). തണ്ടയും പാ ടകവും palg. foot-ornaments of I/?/awar girls. മണിക്കു പാ. a wrist-bracelet. 2. S. (പാടു + അ കം) part of a village അപ്പാടകത്തങ്ങു മേവു ന്നു CC.

paḍappụ l. = പടെപ്പു Creation; people. ഈ പ. this fellow. 2. = പടുപ്പു bedding, mat. കന്മതിലിന്മേല്‍ പെണ്ണുങ്ങള്‍പ. ഇട്ടിരുന്നു; പായും പടപ്പും വരഞ്ഞോണ്ടു TP. abstaining from women; (see പെരിന്പടപ്പു 2.). 3. pāra T. M. (C. hāre, Tu. pārangi) 1. An iron crow, lever, bar, used esp. for digging, f. i. by thieves breaking through a wall (Mpl. ഒശീനക്കോല്‍). വലിയവന്‍റെ പൊന്‍ എടുപ്പാന്‍ എളിയവന്‍റെ പാ. വേണം, ഇരിന്പുപാ. വി ഴുങ്ങി ചുക്കുവെളളം കുടിച്ചു ദഹനം വരുത്താമോ prov. — Kinds: കടപ്പാര 190, കട്ടപ്പാ. ചക്കു പാ. തേങ്ങാപ്പാ. (an instrument, also of areca wood, used to skin cocoanuts പാ. നാട്ടുക). 2. a fish, കണയന്പാ. Scomber acul. 3. അടിച്ചി പ്പാ., അരുപാ. cotton of cocoanut-leaves. I.

pālam T. M. (S. പാലി a dyke). 1. A bridge over rivers, or to connect the walls of native compounds പാ. കടക്കുവോളം നാരാ യണ prov. തെങ്ങിട്ട പാ. കടക്കും TP. ചതി പ്പാ. a false bridge. പാ. കൊണ്ടയിട്ടു, പാ. ഒട്ടി TP. furnished him with a pretext. — N. pr. of places in ഒററപ്പാലം, etc. 2. similar objects, as മൂക്കിന്‍റെ പാ. the bridge of the nose, = നിട്ടല്‍. pa/?/ukka, So. — ക്കാ (see foil. T; പഴു rib, ladder-step). 1. A fruit put to ripen B., half ripe V1. 2. the Areca-nut & its reddish colour when ripe, കരിന്പഴുക്കടക്ക & പഴുക്കട ക്ക 6th & 7th stage of its growth, പഴുക്കാക്കുല a bunch of it. പാക്കും പ. യും ആപാദിച്ചു CG. പഴുക്കടക്ക പോലത്തേ കുഞ്ഞിമീടു TP. 3. So. N. pr. f. (Cher̀umars). — പൊന്നന്‍ പ. 1. a fine Areca-nut. 2. Myristioa tomentosa, Rh. പഞ്ചമം പ. B. a drug. പഴുക്കാപ്പുലി a leopard with dark spots, .പ. നരി MR. പഴുക്കുല in പച്ചക്കുലയും പ. യും Oṇap. unripe & ripe plantain bunches. (see പഴ — 635). I.

piṭṭa T. M. = വിഷ്ഠ (പിണ്ടി, പിഴുക്കു) Excrements of rats, (C. piččike). പിട്ടം = വിട്ടം No. a cross-beam.

pātram S. (പാ to drink) 1.
