pīččuγa T. So. 1. (C. pīrču to suck in). To squirt, syringe. 2. (T. പിയ്ക്ക) * to tug, tear in pieces V1., prepare wool for carding V2. തലമുടി പീച്ചല്‍ a tug by the hair. തല്ലിപ്പീച്ചുക to flog hard. 3. v. n. പീച്ചി പ്പോക to stagger (loc. = ചാളുക), of chirping sound വണ്ണാത്തിപ്പുള്‍ പീച്ചിയാല്‍പെണ്‍തിരളും (superst.) pūδam S. (പൂ to cleanse). Pure — പൂതനാ യുള്ളൊരു താതന്‍, പൂതരായുള്ള സോദരന്മാര്‍ CG. (= noble). പൂതണക്കു (പൂ). A Stereulia, Buch. or Gyrocarpus, or = ഭൂര്‍ജ്ജം.

puṇyam S. (പുഷ്?) 1. Good, favorable. 2. pure (as if from പൂ √) as in കൈപ്പുണ്യം Sil. cleanliness. 3. a good action എണ്ണമററീ ടുന്ന പു'ങ്ങള്‍ വിണ്ണിടം എങ്ങും നടത്തുക CG. ദണ്ഡ്യന്മാരല്ലാത പു'മാണ്ടുള്ളോര്‍ CG. യജിക്കുന്ന പു. ഭജിക്കുന്ന പു. ജപിക്കുന്ന പു. സമസ്തം ഫലം SiPu. 4. merit അന്നു വരേ ചെയ്ത പു'ങ്ങള്‍ നശിച്ചു പോം VyM. ചെയ്തൊരു പു'ത്തിന്നന്ത മില്ല എന്നതോ നിര്‍ണ്ണയമേ CG. she must have acquired much merit to attain such a lot. പു. അര്‍ജ്ജിക്ക; പു. നിങ്കല്‍ ആക്കി AR3. transfer my merits. പുണ്യകര്‍മ്മം S. 1. a good action, opp. പാപകര്‍മ്മം GuP. 2. a holy ceremony, as of Brahmans. പുണ്യകാലം S. holy season, a feast. So പുണ്യ ദിനം; പുണ്യനദി, പുണ്യതീര്‍ത്ഥം etc. പുണ്യഫലം S. reward of meritorious actions, chiefly in former births ഭാര്യ ഭര്‍ത്താവിന്‍റെ പു'ത്തിന്നു സമമായിട്ടുള്ളവള്‍ VyM. — so പു ണ്യശേഷാല്‍ മഹാകുലേ ജനിച്ചു Bhg. പുണ്യഭൂമി S. 1. holy ground = പുണ്യസ്ഥലം. 2. = ആര്യാവര്‍ത്തം. പുണ്യമാസം i. e. Vaišākham (Apr. — May) & Māgham (Jan. — Febr.). പുണ്യവാന്‍ m., — വതി f. S. virtuous, happy (Nasr. പുണ്യവാളന്‍ m., — വാട്ടി f. a saint). പുണ്യശ്ലോകന്‍ S. well spoken of, Naḷa (Nal.) പുണ്യാറു N. pr. a river, Northern boundary of the 10 Grāmams in the South (Tiruvillāy etc.); prh. = പേരാറു KU. പുണ്യാഹം 1. a lucky day. 2. purification of wells & tanks, persons, etc. പുലെക്കു മാരാന്‍ ചെയ്യുന്ന പു. Anach. പു. ചെയ്യേണം കന്യാ വിന്നു CG. മഠത്തില്‍ മരിച്ചാല്‍ പു. കഴിക്കേ ണ്ടി വരും jud. പു. കഴിപ്പിച്ചു, പുണ്യാഹക്ക ലം പിടിക്ക KU. ഉരുപുണ്യാഹാദി ചെയ്താര്‍ KR. (before a coronation). 3. dedication of temples, etc. 4. holy water ദ്വിജന്മാ രാല്‍ വിമുക്തമാം പുണ്യാഹപ്രവാഹം SiPu. പുണ്യൌഘം S. the mass of merits പു. വളര്‍ത്തു ക Bhr.

So. the web of a key. പല്ലന്‍ one who has large or peouliar teeth, often പൊക്കപ്പല്ലന്‍ m., പുഴുപ്പല്ലി, കൊന്ത്രം പല്ലിച്ചി fem. etc. പല്ലരണ a disease of the gums V1. പല്ലാങ്കുഴി B. a tablet with 14 holes serving for a game, പ. യാടുക. പല്ലിക്കോര a കോര 317. പല്ലിടക്കുത്തി, പല്ലുകോല്‍, പല്ലുകുത്തി, പല്ലുളി a toothpick, tooth-cleaner. പല്ലിടുക്കില്‍ കു ത്തി മണപ്പാന്‍ കൊടുക്ക prov. (to reveal one's own faults). പല്ലിറുമ്മുക So. to gnash the teeth. പല്ലിളിക്ക to grin, snarl പ'ച്ചു കാട്ടി CC., also പല്ലു കാട്ടുക.

pišiδam S. (പിശ് to carve). Flesh, meat. പിശിപിശിയായ്പോയി f. i. ചോറു No. loc. introduced from T. പിശുപിശു To be moist & sticky, to be viscous = ചോറു അണ്ടിയാ യ്പോയി No.
