puḷičči 1. The wife of a പുളിയന്‍. 2. a class of very low jungle-dwellers (= നാ യാടി?).

poṇgōlam (പൊന്‍). A tree Putranjiva (Nageia, Rh.).

pulla palg. No. (T. പുല്ലൈ). A yellowish colour of cattle ചന്ദനപ്പു. 345 (lighter), അത്തി ക്കായ് —, കരുവായ് — താമര —, തവിട്ടു —, പരുവാ —, കഴുതപ്പുല്ലു palg.

puḷind/?/aǹ S. A barbarous tribe, inhabiting one of the 56 countries. In M. = പുളിയന്‍ (prh. = പുലയന്‍, പുല്ലന്‍).

puṇyam S. (പുഷ്?) 1. Good, favorable. 2. pure (as if from പൂ √) as in കൈപ്പുണ്യം Sil. cleanliness. 3. a good action എണ്ണമററീ ടുന്ന പു'ങ്ങള്‍ വിണ്ണിടം എങ്ങും നടത്തുക CG. ദണ്ഡ്യന്മാരല്ലാത പു'മാണ്ടുള്ളോര്‍ CG. യജിക്കുന്ന പു. ഭജിക്കുന്ന പു. ജപിക്കുന്ന പു. സമസ്തം ഫലം SiPu. 4. merit അന്നു വരേ ചെയ്ത പു'ങ്ങള്‍ നശിച്ചു പോം VyM. ചെയ്തൊരു പു'ത്തിന്നന്ത മില്ല എന്നതോ നിര്‍ണ്ണയമേ CG. she must have acquired much merit to attain such a lot. പു. അര്‍ജ്ജിക്ക; പു. നിങ്കല്‍ ആക്കി AR3. transfer my merits. പുണ്യകര്‍മ്മം S. 1. a good action, opp. പാപകര്‍മ്മം GuP. 2. a holy ceremony, as of Brahmans. പുണ്യകാലം S. holy season, a feast. So പുണ്യ ദിനം; പുണ്യനദി, പുണ്യതീര്‍ത്ഥം etc. പുണ്യഫലം S. reward of meritorious actions, chiefly in former births ഭാര്യ ഭര്‍ത്താവിന്‍റെ പു'ത്തിന്നു സമമായിട്ടുള്ളവള്‍ VyM. — so പു ണ്യശേഷാല്‍ മഹാകുലേ ജനിച്ചു Bhg. പുണ്യഭൂമി S. 1. holy ground = പുണ്യസ്ഥലം. 2. = ആര്യാവര്‍ത്തം. പുണ്യമാസം i. e. Vaišākham (Apr. — May) & Māgham (Jan. — Febr.). പുണ്യവാന്‍ m., — വതി f. piḍāraǹ T. M. (see പിഷാരന്‍). A snake-catcher V1.; a caste making painted shields, boxes, etc. No. = തോല്ക്കൊല്ലന്‍; a class of lower Brahman s, who drink liquor & worship Sacti (or a Kāḷi, called പിടാരി V1.) KU. കാ വില്‍ ഇട്ടമ്മല്‍ ഇല്ലത്ത് ഏളേ പിടാരര്‍ TR. (with കഷായവസ്ത്രം, നിത്യ സന്യാസത്വം Cal.)

pātti T. M. 1. A garden-bed (fr. പാ തി or പാത്രം). 2. a bathing-tub, watering- trough or basin, tray for gold-wash അവനെ ആനെക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുക്കുന്ന പാ. യുടെ ചു വട്ടില്‍ ഇട്ടു TR. — also a small boat (loc.). 3. a spout, drain, sluice, tube (as പനന്പാ. made of palmyra). 4. urethra അതിന്നു മേല്‍ പാ. യിങ്കല്‍ വളഞ്ഞു മൂത്രനിലയമായി; പാ. മു റിഞ്ഞാല്‍ എല്ലായ്പോഴും ചെറുനീര്‍ വീഴും MM.
