pēr̀u T. M. (VN. of പെറുക). 1. paṭṭaṇam (S. പട്ടനം, പത്തനം, Te. C. Tu. പട്ടു house, abode, fr. പററു) A town, city. പ'ത്തേക്കു നികിതി കെട്ടുവാന്‍ TR. i. e. Srīrangapaṭṭaṇam. Now esp. Madras (T. Palg.). (In Kēraḷa 18 പ'വും, 96 നഗരവും.) പട്ടണക്കാരന്‍ a town's-man; a Madrasee.

pāγuγa (T. പാവുക, C. Tu. hāku). 1.
