bhāṭṭam S. (ഭട്ട). A division of the old Kēraḷa Brahmans (2 others are പ്രഭാകരം & വ്യാകരണം) derived from one ഭാട്ടപ്രഭാകര വ്യാകരണന്‍, whose shoe (മെതിയടി) is said to be preserved in തൃക്കണ്ണാപുരം, തൃക്കല്‍പുറം KU. (others = പാട്ടം usufruction). ഭാട്ടന്‍ S. a follower of ഭട്ടന്‍. ഭാഡ (loc.) = ബാഡ.

bhūrǰam & bhūrǰapatram S. A birch-tree, the bark of which was used for writing, & for winding round the Hooka-snake (vu. ഭുജപത്രം).

bhaḍaǹ S. (=ഭൃതന്‍, but compare പട). A soldier, servant. ഭടവാക്കു rude, foolish talk (=പടു?).

bhōġam S. 1. (ഭുജ് I.) Fruition, enjoyment അവളോടു ഭോ. ഭുജിക്കുന്നേരം KR. — crop, produce. 2. the right of possession f. i. of bunting V1. any part of a house or estate belonging to the Janmi. ദേഹഭോഗം a yearly present given by the tenant on കുടുമനീര്‍ f. i. 10 cocoanuts, 1 jackfruit, 1 bunch of Arecas, 1 plantain bunch. രാജഭോ. etc. 3. hire, price of a woman V1. 4. (ഭുജ് II.) a snake's body & expanded hood. ഭോഗപാത്രം genitalia. ഭോഗഭൂമി l. = സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗം. 2. a happy land (opp. കര്‍മ്മഭൂമി). ഭോഗശീല = കാമിനി; = ഭോഗസ്ത്രീ = ഭോഗിനി. ഭോഗാഭിലാഷം sensuality ഭോ. എന്തിങ്ങനേ AR. ഭോഗി S. (1) luxurious, a sensualist ഭാഗി കള്‍ക്കു മോക്ഷത്തിന്നിഛ്ശയില്ല Bhg. bhāri (ഭാരം). Heavy, serious; tall. ഭാരികം S. = ഘനത്തിരിക്ക Asht. f. i. the heart, a limb in sickness. ഭാര്‍ഗ്ഗവന്‍ S. derived from ഭൃഗു, 1. as Parašurāma (ഭാര്‍ഗ്ഗവരാമന്‍ AR.) — ഭാര്‍ഗ്ഗവപുരാണം = പരശുരാമായണം KM. 2. a name of ശൂ ക്രന്‍, regent of Venus ഭാ. മീനത്തിലും — നി ല്ക്കുന്പോള്‍ AR.

bhakšaγaǹ S. (G. phagein). An eater, glutton. പത്ര—, മൂല—, തോയ—, വായു ഭ'ന്മാര്‍ Nal. devotees with different ways of living. ഭക്ഷണം S. 1. eating, food, esp. any thing besides rice V1. 2. bhavam S. (ഭൂ). 1.
