bhāḍam S. (ഭട?) & ഭാടകം = ബാഡ.

bhāvana S. (caus. of ഭു). 1. Effecting; power of representing to oneself, imagination. ഭാ. തന്നാലേ പുല്കി CG. not bodily, ഭാ. യാലേ വന്ദിച്ചു Bhr. inwardly. In Vēdānta ബ്രഹ്മഭാ. is the realization of the All One, അസംഭാ. its first enemy, the fancy of the difference of things, സംശയഭാ. want of implicit reliance on the Guru, വിപരീതഭാ. the thought of body, I, world, as if they were realities, etc. KeiN. ഭാ. കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സര്‍വ്വവും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു Bhg. 2. reflection, meditation മാമുനിമാര്‍ മൌലി യില്‍ ചേര്‍ക്കുന്നു ഭാ. യാലേ ഈ പാദപരാഗം, കേവലയായൊരു ഭാ. തന്നിലേ മേവി നിന്നു CG. confined himself to one meditation. ഭാവി S. (ഭൂ) 1. future; fut. tense (gram.).— ഭാ. വാക്യം.prediction. 2. (ഭാവം) holding & expressing a sentiment പ്രിയഭാവിയായി രിക്ക VCh. — ഭാവിനി S. a fine woman. denV. ഭാവിക്ക 1. to represent, exhibit, show കേട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഭാവിച്ചു Bhr.; കേട്ടതു ഭാവി യാതേ PT.; ശോകരോഷാദികളെ ഭാവിച്ചു Mud. (felt or feigned). കെട്ടി ഞാന്നു ചാവ തിന്നായി ഭാ. Mud. act as if you hanged yourself!; so neg. കാണാതേ ഭാ. to feign to believe yourself unseen. — കലശല്ക്കു ഭാ. MR. to show fight. രാജാവു ചിരിക്കുന്നതു പോ ലേ ഭാവിച്ചു കൊല്ലും though he appear to smile. 2. to assume (=അഹംഭാവം?). അ ന്യോന്യവാഞ്ഛിതം കൊണ്ടു ഭാ'ച്ചു ഘോഷി ച്ചു Nal. claimed each the preference for his choice. 3. to intend നാളെ സ്വയംവരം ഭാവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു Nal. സേവയും ഭാവിച്ചു Bhr. (a dog seeking a master). Chiefly Dat. ഊണിന്നു ഭാവിച്ചു KR. (=ഉണ്മാന്‍). ഭക്ഷണ ത്തിന്നു ഭാവിക്കുന്പോള്‍ TR. പടെക്കു Bhr. സന്ധിക്കു ഭാവിക്കില്‍ ChVr. resolve & prepare for. ഭാ. വേണ്ട അതിന്നിനി Sah. don't hope for it. ഭാവിതം part. pass, of prec. (also: got, mixed). ഇതിപ്പോള്‍ വന്നതും എനിക്കു ഭാ. KR. hoped for. CV. ഭാവിപ്പിക്ക f. i. അവര്‍ക്കു സങ്കടം മനതാ രില്‍ ഭാവിപ്പിച്ചീടും Nal. I should grieve them (al. സംഭവിപ്പി —). ഭാവുകം S. happy= ശുഭം, സുഖം.

bharlsanam S. (bharts). Blaming; abuse, menace ഭ. ഒട്ടും ഇല്ല Bhr. ഭ. ചെയ്യും വരനെ Sah. denV. ഭര്‍ത്സിക്ക to rail, abuse (part. pass. ഭ ര്‍ത്സിതം S.); also വളരേ പരപ്പില്‍ പറ ഞ്ഞാന്‍ വാനരന്മാരെ ഭര്‍ത്സിപ്പിച്ചിങ്ങനേ KR. (without caus. meaning).

bhańǰanam S. (= L. frango). Breaking, destroying. ശരീരഭ. തുടങ്ങും ChVr. will kill. ശോകഭ. SiPu. removing grief. ഭഞ്ജിക the breaking (of a tree സാലഭ. പോ ലേ Bhr.). denV. ഭഞ്ജിക്ക l. = ഭംഗം വരിക V1. 2. = ഭം ഗം വരുത്തുക B. — (part. pass. ഭഗ്നം).

bharam S. (ഭൃ, L. fero, E. bear). 1. Bearing വ്യസനഭരഹൃദയം Mud. heavy with grief. — ഭര f. the earth. 2. a burthen, load; quantity. മല്‍ഭ. കാര്യം AR. I have to perform my task. ഭരാഭരം തീര്‍ക്ക Sah. to remove the earth's load. ഭരം ഏല്ക്ക to receive in charge, undertake. — ഭ. ഏല്പിക്ക to give in charge, commit to സുതന്മാരെ കൃഷ്ണനെ ഭ'ച്ചു Bhr.; കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചിലരെ ഭ'ച്ചു ചെച്ചു KU. ദേവന്മാരെ ഭ'ച്ചു VilvP. cast himself on the Gods; also അവ ങ്കല്‍ jud.; കാത്തു കൊള്‍വാന്‍ ഭ'ച്ചു Mud. entrusted them with the defence. ഭരണം S. bearing, വൈരഭ. bhaḷḷu (V1. പളു prh. fr. പഴു, പാഴ് or വളുതം, വള്ളു). 1. Ostentation, show ഭള്ളിനായി ഭസ്മം തേച്ച Si Pu. ഭള്ളുള്ള നിന്‍റെ ഭാവം അറി യാതേ KR. (says Bāli to Rāma). ഭ. പറഞ്ഞു Bhr. boasted. ഭള്ളുകള്‍ അവരോടു കൂടുകയില്ല CrArj. menaces. 2. exaggeration, lie ഭള്ളും പൊള്ളും. ഭള്ളല്ല VilvP. quite true! ഭ. കാട്ടുക, ഭാവിക്ക B. to counterfeit, trick. ഭള്ളന്‍ vainglorious മഹാഭ.

bhī S. Fear (= ഭയം). ഭീകരം S. terrific ഭീ'മായ കായം, അതിഭീ'മാ യ്വരും VCh. ഭീതന്‍ S. (part. pass.) afraid ഭീതരായി നില്ലാ തേ CG. ഭീതനാം ക്ഷൌരകന്‍ PT. അസത്യ ഭീതനായി KR. fearing to break his promise. ഭീതി S. fear കൊണ്ടകൈക്കു ഭീതി (opp. ആശ) prov. പ്രസാദം ലഭിപ്പാന്‍ ഭീ., വെന്തു പോം എന്നോര്‍ത്തൊരു ഭീ., ദോഷം ചെയ്കയില്‍ ഭീ. bhāraδam S. (ഭരത). Referring to Bh. or the Bharatas. 1. = ഭാരതഖണ്ഡം, — വര്‍ഷം India. Bhg 5. Brhmd. 2. = മഹാഭാരതം the great epos of the Bharatas ഭാരതയുദ്ധം Bhg. ഭാ. വായിപ്പിക്ക kings to have that poem publicly read & explained (a costly performance). ഭാരതി S. 1. a goddess, sometimes identified with Saraswati. 2. literary composition; word, speech പാഹി എന്നുള്ളൊരു ഭാ. CG. നാരിതന്‍ ഭാ. കേട്ടു Sk.

bhōġam S. 1. (ഭുജ് I.) Fruition, enjoyment അവളോടു ഭോ. ഭുജിക്കുന്നേരം KR. — crop, produce. 2. the right of possession f. i. of bunting V1. any part of a house or estate belonging to the Janmi. ദേഹഭോഗം a yearly present given by the tenant on കുടുമനീര്‍ f. i. 10 cocoanuts, 1 jackfruit, 1 bunch of Arecas, 1 plantain bunch. രാജഭോ. etc. 3. hire, price of a woman V1. 4. (ഭുജ് II.) a snake's body & expanded hood. ഭോഗപാത്രം genitalia. ഭോഗഭൂമി l. = സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗം. 2. a happy land (opp. കര്‍മ്മഭൂമി). ഭോഗശീല = കാമിനി; = ഭോഗസ്ത്രീ = ഭോഗിനി. ഭോഗാഭിലാഷം sensuality ഭോ. എന്തിങ്ങനേ AR. ഭോഗി S. (1) luxurious, a sensualist ഭാഗി കള്‍ക്കു മോക്ഷത്തിന്നിഛ്ശയില്ല Bhg. (4) a serpent ചന്ദനക്കുന്നില്‍നിന്നിറങ്ങുന്ന ഭോഗി കള്‍ CG. ഭോഗിനി f. a concubine. — (see ബോയി). ഭോഗിസത്തമന്‍ (4), ഭോഗീശന്‍ Bhr. = സ ര്‍പ്പരാജന്‍. denV. ഭോഗിക്ക to enjoy (നാരിയെ KR.). ഭോഗേഛ്ശ love of pleasure ഭോ. വിട്ടു Bhg. ഭോഗ്യം S. fit to be enjoyed; usufruct.

bhairavam S. (ഭീരു, but vu. ഭൈ രം = വൈരം anger). Horrid ഭൈ'മായ രൂപം KR. ഭൈരവരസം the emotion of horror, in po. ഭൈരവന്‍ S. N. pr. a Sivamūrti, or Paradēvata, riding on a dog (worshipped in Saktipūǰa). ഭൈരവി S. a form of Kāḷi പൂതന എന്നൊരു ഭൈ. CG.
