mi/?/uṇṇγa (T. So. വി —, Te. mringu, C. Te. mingu, C. Tu. nungu). To swallow ഗു ളികയായി മി. a. med. മി'വാന്‍ വായ്പിളര്‍ന്നു AR. തീവ്രം മി'ങ്ങിനാന്‍ രക്ഷസ്സവളെ VetC. ആമോ ദം പൂണ്ടു മി. CG. to devour. വാരിമി. AR. to gulp down. പാവകന്‍ നമ്മെ മി. CG. (of fire), രാഹുവരുന്നു നിന്നെ മി'വാന്‍ CG. (to the moon). അരക്കര്‍ പടയും മി. RC. ബ്രഹ്മാണ്ഡം മുഴുവനേ മിഴുങ്ങി രാമന്‍ KR.; also to swallow injuries ആയിരം മി. യാല്‍ ആണല്ല prov. — മിഴുങ്ങി പ്പറക to slur, speak inarticulately. CV. മിഴുങ്ങിക്ക to absorb.

maǰǰanam S. (L mergo). Diving, bathing, sinking ലജ്ജയാം കടലില്‍ മ. ചെയ്തു PT.; fig. അവനില്‍ മ. ചെയ്തൊന്നെന്നുള്ളം CG. = is merged in him. മജ്ജനശാല = കുള — & കുളിപ്പുര a bath.

mēttaǹ B. A class of Muhammedans. മേത്തല്‍ (loc.) = മീത്തല്‍, also കുടയുടെ മേത്തു ചോരയുള്ളതു നോക്കി jud. Mpl. — മേത്തോട്ടു upwards. (മേല്‍): മേത്തട്ടു ceiling, upper story. മേത്തരം the best sort, superior നീതിക്കെല്ലാം മേററരമാനനിശാചരന്‍ RC. മേത്തലവായു Palg. sore eyes with head-ache (corr. fr. നേത്രവായു). മേത്താവി Tdbh. = മേധാവി. മേത്തോന്നി Gloriosa or Methonica superba, with poisonous root used by women (മേ' യും കിണറും ഉണ്ടു) for suicide. മേത്രാന്‍, see മെത്രാന്‍.
