mayūram S. = മയില്‍ KR. A peacock. മയൂരവര്‍മ്മന്‍ N. pr. a king of No. Mal. who introduced Brahmans in Tauḷawa.

mu/?/am T. Te. m. (മുളം M. Tu. C. fr. മുഴ, മുഴുക്ക). 1. māl T. M. (Te. nal). 1. Black, തിരുമാല്‍ K/?/šṇa. നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നെന്മാലേ Tir. miδam S. (part. pass.of മിണ്ട). 1. Measured. 2. moderate. മിതമായി little. 3. moderation. മിതപ്പെടുത്തുക to regulate.

mōṇṇụ Kaḍ. (So. മാര്‍ങ്ങ). Plantain-suckers when very small (see കന്നു 2, 203). (നേന്ത്രമോങ്ങ് are not transplanted but boiled & eaten).

māmbụ No. = മാണ്പു, മാണി 2. The flower at the end of the plantain bunch; tassel & other appendage of ornaments ചങ്ങല —, തുടര്‍ —; a carved ornament depending from the capital (പോതിക) of wooden pillars in temples & manors. = വാഴമാണി. മാന്പില്ലാക്കുന്നന്‍ a kind of plantain.
