moṭṭa T. M. C. Tu. (മുണ്ഡ). 1. A bald head ചിരെച്ചാല്‍ മൊട്ട prov.; a Brahman widow; a Māpḷa ഉപ്പു പുളിക്കൂലും മൊ. ചതി ക്കും prov. മൊ. അടിക്ക to shave the head completely. 2. = മുട്ട an egg. മൊട്ടക്കുന്നു a bare hillock. മൊട്ടക്കൊന്പന്‍ cattle having lost one horn or both. മൊട്ടത്തലയന്‍ a Māpḷa. മൊട്ടത്തൈ a cocoanut-plant before the shooting of തിരുള്‍. മൊട്ടപ്പശ So. the white of eggs used as glue.

māṇṇa (മാ III., കായ്). 1. A mango fruit പച്ച മാ. medicinal, a. med. 2. mango pickle. 3. the heart or kidneys of animals തേങ്ങയും മാ. യും stomach etc. — ചെറുമാങ്ങ a Gratiola or Columnea, ചെറുമാങ്കൊട്ട a frutex. Rh. മാങ്ങാക്കിളി the mango-bird, Oriolus. മാങ്ങാച്ചൂടു Peat-pimples (partly caused by eating mangoes). മാങ്ങാനാറി Didynamia gymnospermia മാ. കഴ ഞ്ചു a. med. Kinds: ചെറിയ — Columnea balsamica, വലിയ — Verbesina calendulacea Rh.

muru (T. Te. tender, fine or മുരം rugged). An oyster, മുരിക V1., മുരുങ്ങ MC. B. (= ആളി). മുരുതോടു an oyster shell. മുരുകെട്ടുക, പിടിക്ക adhering of oysters, barnacles, etc. to rocks, timber, vessels (foul bottom). മുരുകന്‍ (T. younger son), Subrahmaṇya Sk. — N. pr. m. of Nāyars മു., മുരുകാണ്ടി, മുരു കേലന്‍ of I/?/avars. മുരുചി perh. The gall-bladder ശശപിത്തവും മു. യും കൂടേ കഴുതമൂത്രത്തില്‍ അരെച്ചു Tantr.

mottuγa (T. Te. to strike, see മു —). 1. To kiss f. i. the hand, Genov. Mpl. എത്ര മൊത്തിയാലും ഒന്നു പൊത്തിക്കൂടാ prov. 2. So. to drink from a vessel B., to sip Vl. (മോകു, മോഞ്ചു). മൊത്തി (C. mōti = മുച്ചി) 1. the face പാണ്ഡ വവൃഷ്ണികള്‍ ഒന്നായപ്പോള്‍ കര്‍ണ്ണാദികളുടെ മൊത്തി * കറുത്തു CrArj. from envy. 2. the calyx as of cocoa-nut തേങ്ങയുടെ മൊ. അ ടര്‍ത്തി, a receptacle of Compositæ; also മൊത്തടര്‍ന്നു വീണു. * (print: മൊഞ്ഞി). മൊന്ത 1. So. T. a cruse, B. goglet, പിടി — narrow-mouthed, Arb. (see മോന്ത). 2. a thicket, the lair of a tiger, No. മൊന്നാക്കള്‍ V1. Muham. priests (മുല്ല, മു ന്നാള്‍?).

S. 1. (മന്‍). Self-confidence, pride മാ. നടിക്ക = അഭിമാനം; മാനമദങ്ങള്‍ അശേഷം ഒഴിച്ചു Bhg. passions. ഞാന്‍ എന്നും എനിക്കെ ന്നുമുള്ള മാ. കളക; എന്നോടു നേരായവരില്ലെ ന്ന മാ. Bhr. പെണ്ണുങ്ങളില്‍ മാ. അടക്കും, മാ. ഇല്ലാതൊരു മാ. മനസ്സില്‍ എഴുന്നു CG. self-conceitedness, prudery, bashfulness. 2. honor, rank, respectability, urbanity ബ്രാഹ്മണരെ മാ. കെടുത്തു ദു:ഖിപ്പിച്ചു TR. Tippu disgraced & persecuted them. മാ. ഇയന്നു Bhr. = മാന ത്തോടു courteously. മാനത്തിന്നു പായുക No. for honor's sake (cattle). 3. (മാ) measure = പ്ര മാണം, as മാഷാദിമാനം കണക്കു Nal. ചന്ദ്രമാ. calculation by the moon's motion. 4. prh. = മന്നം in വാനവര്‍ എല്ലാരും മാനിപ്പാനായി മാ നത്തു വന്നു നിറഞ്ഞു CG. (or മാനം I.) മാനക്കുറവു MR. dishonor, disgrace = അപ മാനം. മാനക്കേടു id. മാനം കെട്ടും പണം നേടിക്കൊ ണ്ടാല്‍ മാ. അപ്പണം പോക്കിക്കൊള്ളും prov. മാ. അനുഭവിക്ക TR. to suffer shameful treatment. മാനക്ഷയം S. id. നമ്മെ മാ. വരുത്തി TR. dishonored. മാനനം S. honoring. മാനനീയന്‍ S. honorable Nal. മാനപ്രാണത്തോടേ പോരിക TR. to escape without loss of honor or life. മാനഭംഗം S. disgrace ലജ്ജയും ലഘുത്വവും മാ' വും ഫലം Nal.

mašaγam S. (മശ് to hum). A mosquito, gnat മ'ങ്ങള്‍ കടിച്ചു KR.; also മശ f. i. മശകളുടെ നടുവില്‍ മദകരി Bhg. മശിര്‍ T. Palg. vu. = മയിര്‍. മശീഹ Syr. (Hebr. maš/?/ak/?/). The Messiah. യേ ശൂ മശിഹ.

manassụ S. (manas, മന്‍, L. mens, mind). 1. The intellect മനസ്സിലായി= ബോ ധിച്ചു understood, perceived, remembered, ആ യതു മനസ്സിലാക്കി TR. made himself acquainted with it. മനസ്സില്‍ കിടക്കട്ടേ don't disclose it. മനസ്സില്‍ ചക്കര prov. (opp. വായില്‍). മ'ല്‍ വെക്ക to recollect. As imaginative faculty it is distinguished from ചിത്തം & ബുദ്ധി. 2. will, attention, വീരനെ വനത്തിലാക്കുവാന്‍ മ. വെ ച്ചുളള മനുഷ്യന്‍ KR. who originated the idea
