rāhu S. (രഭ്). A Daitya, that 'seizes' sun or moon & causes eclipses; ascending node (8th planet, invisible). ചന്ദ്രനെക്കാലാല്‍ ഗ്രസിപ്പതിന്നടുക്കും രാ. കണക്കനേ KR 6. രാ. ഗ്രാഹം, രാ. വേള an eclipse.

rōšam S. (രൂഷ്). Wrath, fury ഉളളി ലടങ്ങാത രോ. Bhr. രോഷേണ പൊരുതു AR. മറയരുതു രോ. ChVr. എന്‍രോ. തീര്‍ത്തീടുവന്‍ AR. revenge. ജ്വലിച്ചു രോഷാഗ്നി Mud. denV. രോഷിക്ക to be wroth ഇവരെ രോ'ച്ചു കുല ചെയ്താല്‍ KR.

raṭṭụ 5. Coarse, thick cloth (& ഇരട്ടുകള്‍ po. double-threaded sack-cloth), ര. കൊണ്ട് ഒരു വിധം മാറാപ്പു Nal.

rākšasaǹ S. = രക്ഷസ്സ്, അരക്കന്‍ (46.). A demon, fiend ഇങ്ങുന്നു കുലപ്പെട്ട നര ന്മാര്‍ എല്ലാവരും അങ്ങു രാ'രായി Bhg5. The മുപ്പത്തായിരം (KU.), the rulers of Ambikāpura (KM.), etc. are said to be of Rākšasa origin. രാക്ഷസം fiendish, f. രാക്ഷസിയായാള്‍ KR. നിന്‍ ബുദ്ധി രാ'സിയത്രേ Bhr. രാക്ഷസോ ദ്വാഹം Bhg. marriage by abduction.

rahas S. (രഹ് to quit). Loneliness, secrecy അന്യായമല്ലോ രഹസ്സല്ലാപം നമ്മില്‍ Bhr. — (Loc.) രഹസികഥനം secret communication. രഹസി ചെന്നു കണ്ടു Bhr. in secret. രഹസ്യം 1. secret. 2. a secret, mystery, Bhg. 3. assignation; connection with a mistress അവളെ അരികത്തു ര'ത്തിന്നു ചെന്നു TR. — രഹസ്യക്കാരന്‍ a lover, paramour (esp. with Sūdra females). അവന്‍റെ രഹസ്യ വീടു etc. രഹിതം (part. pass.) left, bereft ന്യായര. MR.
