Palg. (vu. ചങ്കീരി) a screw-cover of ഉറുക്കു, ഏലസ്സ് etc., the windings of a ball of thread etc. ശംഖുമുദ്രVišṇu's trident used as a seal or stamp by the Cochin Sarkār. ശംഖുവിളി blowing the conch.

šrēyas S. (ശ്രീ). 1. Better, best. ശ്രേയാന്‍ m. 2. prosperity, happiness തങ്ങ ളെ ശ്രേ. ൦ഗുണങ്ങളും കേട്ടു, നമുക്ക് അതു കൊ ണ്ടു ശ്രേ. വരേണം TR. ശ്രേ. ഉണ്ടാക ഭവാനു KR. ശ്രേയസ്സുളില്‍ ഒന്നു മുഖ്യം Bhg. the highest good (=പുരുഷാര്‍ത്ഥം) is ഭക്തി. ശ്രേഷ്ഠം S. (Superl.) best, superior; മുനിശ്രേ ഷ്ഠന്‍ etc. ശ്രേഷ്ഠത,— ത്വം S. excellency, superiority. ശ്രേഷ്ഠി S. the head-man of a trade or art ശ്രേ. വര്‍ത്തകന്‍ Mud. (hence ചെട്ടി 380.). ശ്രേ. യും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു Nal. the merchant (hon.). — സര്‍വ്വനഗരശ്രേഷ്ഠ്യം (S. superiority) Mud. authority over.
