VN. ചാരല് 1. leaning against, inclination. 2. side, declivity of hill. 3. support. ചാരഴി rails to lean against. a. v. ചാരിക്ക 1. = ചാരുക 4. to lay against in order to support; to shut the door V1.; to embrace. 2. to mix ingredients in a fluid കസ്തൂരി യെ പനിനീരില് ചാരിച്ചു CG. എണ്ണയും തേ നും കൂട്ടി ചാരിച്ചു a med. (= ചാലിക്ക). ചാരുകാരന് a third person, in whose name a deed is executed at the desire of the person that advances the money. ചാരുകണക്കു MR. ജമ ചാരുകാരന് പേരില് തിരിപ്പാന് MR. ചാരുകസേല an easy-chair. ചാരുകാല് support, prop; ചിറകള്ക്കു ചാ. ചാ രുന്നതു MC. (of dams). ചാരുതലയണ, — മെത്ത etc. a divan, sofa, etc. ചാരുപടി 1. a seat in a house to receive strangers. 2. a window, whose shutter may serve as sleeping place. ചാരുമാനം So. prop; reliance; slope. ചാരുമുറി 1. a deed of relinquishment from a third person, whose name has been made use of, without his having any interest in the transaction. 2. relinquishment of the items of account, or acquittance for them (= ഇണക്കു). ചാരെഴുത്തു confidential document. ചാര് 1. (4.) mud worked upsiantingly against a wall to strengthen it (= counter-fort, Arch.). (1) the back of a chair കസേലയുടെ ചാര്. 2. confidant, trusted person; ചാരായിട്ടു നി കിതി കൊടുക്കുന്നവന് a third person, (see ചാരുകാരന്, ചാരുമുറി). 3. honorific by- name (like cousin, friend) used by Nāyars, as ഗോവിന്ദച്ചാര് friend Gōvinda, കുരങ്ങു ച്ചാര് (in fable).
