teḷḷuγa T. M. (തെള്‍) 1. To sift or winnow by casting up gently in a fan. tāḷi T. M. (താള്‍) 1. A creeper, the leaves of which are used in cleansing the head before bathing or in washing off the oil rubbed on the body, താ'യും തേച്ചു തല ഒലുന്പി, താ'ത്തരി തട്ടി TP. esp. ഏച്ചില്‍ത്താ. 2. നാലു താളി or 4 തോല്‍ plants used as signs of an interdict, തിരു മുടിത്താളി വെച്ചു വിരോധിച്ചു TR.; വെള്ളില etc. 3. S.( താലം, താലി) Corypha umbraculifera (C. താളെ, Te. താഡു). Kinds: ഞണ്ണന്താളി Cymbidium ovatum, ഉത്തമ ത്താ. V1., എരിമത്താളി q. v., ഏച്ചിത്താളി Convolvulus striatus (ഏ. നീരും പഴന്താളിയും a. med.), കരുന്താ. (= കരിന്തകാളി), കാട്ടുതാളി Rhynchoglossum obliq., കുറവന്താ., കൈത്താ. (see കൈതത്താളി), ചെറുതാ. Hence: താളിപ്പന (3) the Talipot tree, താളിയോ ല its leaf. താളിപ്പുല്ലു Tradescantia malab. or Commelina nudiflora. താളിമാതളം (S. ദാസിമം) pomegranate GP 67., a. med., താ. ഏഴിലന്പാലയും KR. (mod. ഉറു മാന്പഴം).
