tammiṭṭam (C. Te. തമ്മട്ടം, C. dammaṭe) A large drum, tambourine, ത'വും നക്രമദ്ദളവും Bhr.

tūva A nettle (=തൂവല്‍?). പെരുവഴിത്തൂ വെക്കരം ഇല്ല; തൂവയും മീറും വെക്ക, അടിക്ക (an old അടിമപ്പിഴ ) prov. — Kinds: കൊടിത്തൂ വ Tragia involucrata, തൃത്തൂവ (ഇവതൃത്തൂവനീ രില്‍തഴെച്ചു a.med.), പട്ടാണിത്തൂവ an Urtica.

tikkụ Tdbh.; ദിക്കു. Direction തിക്കും കടവും (huntg.). തിക്കടെച്ചുപോക to know not whither to turn, also തിക്കു മുട്ടുക, കെടുക V2. to be utterly at a loss. അത്തിക്കേ പോവാന്‍, എത്തിക്കേ പോയി CG. II.

turaṇgam Tdbh., സുരഗം (but compare തുരക്ക). Amine in fortification, claudestine opening made in a wall. കള്ളന്‍ തു. വെക്കുന്നു vu.; വീട്ടില്‍ തു. വെച്ചു കേറി Arb. (and വീടു തു രക്കല്‍, തുരവു വെക്ക house-breaking).

tāḷi T. M. (താള്‍) 1. A creeper, the leaves of which are used in cleansing the head before bathing or in washing off the oil rubbed on the body, താ'യും തേച്ചു തല ഒലുന്പി, താ'ത്തരി തട്ടി TP. esp. ഏച്ചില്‍ത്താ. 2. നാലു താളി or 4 തോല്‍ plants used as signs of an interdict, തിരു മുടിത്താളി വെച്ചു വിരോധിച്ചു TR.; വെള്ളില etc. 3. S.( താലം, താലി) Corypha umbraculifera (C. താളെ, Te. താഡു). Kinds: ഞണ്ണന്താളി Cymbidium ovatum, ഉത്തമ ത്താ. V1., എരിമത്താളി q. v., ഏച്ചിത്താളി Convolvulus striatus (ഏ. നീരും പഴന്താളിയും a. med.), കരുന്താ. (= കരിന്തകാളി), കാട്ടുതാളി Rhynchoglossum obliq., കുറവന്താ., കൈത്താ. (see കൈതത്താളി), ചെറുതാ. Rottlera dicocca, വെട്ടിത്താ. q. v., വെണ്‍തി രുതാ. Ipomœa setosa, വേരില്ലാത്താളി (= ത ലനീളി). Hence: താളിപ്പന (3) the Talipot tree, താളിയോ ല its leaf. താളിപ്പുല്ലു Tradescantia malab. or Commelina nudiflora. താളിമാതളം (S. ദാസിമം) pomegranate GP 67., a. med., താ. ഏഴിലന്പാലയും KR. (mod. ഉറു മാന്പഴം).

tāraγam S. (തര്‍) 1. Getting over; ferrying, saving. 2. a star (=താര), also താര ക (താരകജാലം കാണായി CG., താരകഗണം Bhg.) താരകന്‍ a pilot; a saviour.
