toṭṭil 5. (തൊട്ടു‍ + ഇല്‍) A cradle. പൊ ന്നുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു തൊട്ടിലും കുട്ടിയും തരുവന്‍ SG. (a vow before child-birth). തൊട്ടില്‍പാട്ടു a lullaby. തൊ'ലേശീലം (see ചുടല).

ter̀ukka (T. to bruise) 1. v. a. To pull up the cloth, as when wading (തെരുക്ക); to roll up തിരി തെ. Tantr.; അരുവു തെറുത്തു കുത്തു ക V2. to hem; to stop water-courses. 2. v. n. (T. തെറുക) water to stand, to be dammed up. തെറുത്തു നോക്ക to fix one with the eye. തേരട്ട തെറുത്തു കിടക്ക MC. lies rolled up. CV. തെറുപ്പിക്ക to enclose water by dykes (= ചെറുക്ക). തെറുതെറുപ്പു = തെരുതെരുപ്പു (loc.)

tṛš S. Thirst, & തൃട്ട്, also തൃള്‍ ഛര്‍ദ്ദി യും വരും Nid. — ക്ഷുത്തൃഡാദികള്‍ VCh. തൃഷാശൂല, (തിറുണശൂല) a disease, a med., (ദാ ഹിക്കും, പനിക്കും etc.) തൃഷ്ണ thirst; also as disease തൃഷ്ണാനിദാനം Nid.; strong desire, വിഷയങ്ങളിലുള്ള തൃ. Bhg.; പലതരം തൃ. കളായിട്ടുള്ള ചുഴിപ്പു VCh.

turaṇġani S. & തുരഗം S. (തുര്‍ to run, to be swift). A horse, രഥതുരഗകരികള്‍ Nal. തുരഗാധിരൂഢന്‍ VetC. ?

tukkuγa (T.to eat) = ഇരന്നു ന ടക്ക. A beggar is called തുക്കി or തുക്കിപ്പെറു ക്കി (loc.); പെറുക്കിത്തുക്കിനായി (No., abuse).

tiṭṭu T. M. 1. A mound, shoal, (T. തിടല്‍ id. see തിണ്‍). 2. (Tdbh.; ദിഷ്ടം and use = തിട്ടതി). തിട്ടുവരുന്പോള്‍ Anj. in case of distress, similar തിടുക്കു. തിണ see തിണ്ണ.

ta/?/ambụ (T. — ഴു —, fr. തഴു) A scar, callous spot, as from a writing style; a wart. അഛ്ശന്‍ ആനപ്പാവാന്‍ എന്നു വെച്ചു മകന്‍െറ ചന്തിക്കും ത. ഉണ്ടാമോ prov. — met. നാക്കിന്നു ത. ഉറച്ചീടിന കൂട്ടര്‍ PT. practiced talkers. — തഴന്പിടുക, വീഴുക a horny mark to form. denV. തഴന്പിക്ക to grow callous. തഴന്പിച്ച വന്‍ V1. callous, unfeeling. തഴന്പല്‍ (loc.) being practised, unshaken.

tiṇ T. M. aC. (C. Te. Tu. ദിണ്‍; prh. √ formed from തിടം, ദൃഢം) Firm, strong, stiff, solid. തിണ്കരം RC. a stout hand. തിണ്‍പ ട, തിണ്‍പുകഴ്ചേര്‍ ഇരാവണി, തിണ്ടേര്‍വരു ത്തും നല്ല സൂതന്‍ (= തിണ്‍ തേര്‍), കുരുതിത്തി ണ്കളി കണ്ടു RC. (in the wounded) — തിണ്‍ തുട CG. a stout thigh. തിണ്ണ (in No. also തിണ) T. M. C. (C. Te. ദിന്ന, Tu. ദിഗെ) 1. a terrace, raised bank. പീടി കയുടെ വടക്കേത്തിണയില്‍, തിണമേല്‍നി ന്നു താഴേ ആക്കി jud.; തിണാലില്‍ MR.; തെ ക്കിനങ്കാററാടും പൊന്തിണയില്‍, പൂന്തിണ മേല്‍ച്ചെന്നിരുന്നു TP. 2. an open veranda; often പുറന്തിണ്ണ; (കരയത്തിണ്ണ the place of females during menstruation). തിണ്ണ നിരങ്ങി നടക്ക V2. to idle about from house to house. തിണ്ണമിടുക്കു the feeling of security in one's home; being brave at least at home.
