To roll (mod. പി —). പൊടിയാലണിന്തു വീഴ്ന്തു പുര ണ്ടു RC. ചെവ്വരി 387. v. a. പുരട്ടുക To turn about (=പി —). പു രട്ടും തല എപ്പോഴും Nid. കണ്ണില്‍ പു. the pain of objects fallen into the eye. — fig. പുരട്ടും വാക്കു പോരും VeY. പുരളിക്ക (loc.) to revolve in the mind. ഞാന്‍ പു'ച്ചില്ല didn't mind, better പൊരുളിക്ക.

pār̀āḍaǹ No. (പാറുക) 1. also പാ ററാടു MC., പാറയാത്തന്‍, പാറയാന്‍ Trav. The flying squirrel, Pteropus or pteromys. 2. = ന രിച്ചീറു a bat.

piḍāraǹ T. M. (see പിഷാരന്‍). A snake-catcher V1.; a caste making painted shields, boxes, etc. No. = തോല്ക്കൊല്ലന്‍; a class of lower Brahman s, who drink liquor & worship Sacti (or a Kāḷi, called പിടാരി V1.) KU. കാ വില്‍ ഇട്ടമ്മല്‍ ഇല്ലത്ത് ഏളേ പിടാരര്‍ TR. (with കഷായവസ്ത്രം, നിത്യ സന്യാസത്വം Cal.)

pāppini (പാപ്പാന്‍) A caste of lower Brahmans, who purify Nāyars whilst their women sing at Nāyar marriages etc. (71 in Taḷipar̀ambu). പാപ്പുക്കോയില്‍ N. pr. = പറപ്പൂര്‍സ്വരൂപം (old).

paδuṇṇuγa T. M. (also = പതിയുക). 1. To be pressed down. മൂക്കു പതുങ്ങി flattened by a stone. 2. to sneak, crouch, കള്ളനെ പ്പോലേ പ'ന്നു PT. പതുങ്ങി വരിക slily, cautiously. കുഞ്ചന്‍ നേരേ പതുങ്ങിനാന്‍ പഞ്ഞി പോലേ CG. cringed. VN. പതുക്കം concealment, skulking (also = പതുപ്പു). I.

pakkụ T. M. (C. പക്കെ) Side = പക്കം, പക്കല്‍. f. i. പക്കില്‍നിന്നു, പക്കുന്നു on the side. — പക്കേ = പക്ഷേ.
