T. M. Te. (fr. പെയര്‍ see പേര്‍പ്പു). 1. A name, as it were the duplicate of a person or thing. ഇല്ലപ്പേര്‍, വീട്ടുപേര്‍ the family name. പേര്‍ ഇടുക to name (= വിളിക്ക, കെട്ടുക). തക്ഷ കന്‍ എന്ന പേരിട്ടു കൊണ്ടു Bhr. പൈതങ്ങള്‍ രണ്ടിന്നും പേരിട്ടുകൊള്ളേണം CG. ഗോക്കളെ പേര്‍ ചൊല്ലി നീള വിളിക്കയും CG. കണിശന്‍ ഇനിക്കു മുന്പേ പേര്‍ വിളിച്ചു prov. (why call my name so often). പേരുമാത്രവും കിട്ടാ & പേര ്‍മാത്രം ശേഷിക്കും PT. will utterly perish. എന്നു പേര്‍ പൊങ്ങും Bhg. called. 2. a person, individual നാലു പേര്‍ = നാല്വര്‍; രണ്ടു പേര ്‍കളും ഉടുത്തു Nal. ഏഴു പേരുടെ നാമങ്ങള്‍ Bhr. വധിക്കേണ്ടും പേരില്‍ ആര്‍ KR. who belongs to the വദ്ധ്യന്മാര്‍? എയ്യുന്ന പേരുകള്‍ Bhr.; എ പ്പേരീം (often written എപ്പ്യേരും) all, any persons or things എപ്യേരുമേ Nal. 3. notoriety, fame പേരും പെരിപ്പവും Bhr. etc. പേര്‍ പെററ, കൊണ്ട, ഉള്ള famous. പേ. നടക്കേണം ലോകങ്ങളില്‍ Sk. പേ. കെട്ടു പോയി No. loss of credit. പെരാക 1. to be something, have a title ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗം ചേയ്തിട്ടു പേരാകേണം (or എടു ക്കേണം). 2. to be notorious എന്നു പേരും ആകും TP. it will be said. ഏലം നുറു തുലാം

parašu S., (G. pelekys). An axe, mace = വെണ്മഴു Brhmd. പരശുരാമന് N. pr. Rāma, son of Jamadagni, celebrated as the creator or colonizer of Kēraḷa KM., KU.

pāṇaǹ T. M. (T. പാണ്‍ = പണ്‍ melody). A caste of musicians, actors & players; in So. T. also tailors B., necromancers D. (= മുന്നൂററന്‍, മലയച്ചെക്കന്‍, പറയന്‍). പാ' ന്‍റെ നായി പോലേ prov. പാ'നോട് ഒപ്പിക്കും എന്നെ ആചാര്യനോ Bhr. — കീഴ്പാണന്‍ V1. a caste of slaves. പാണത്തി V1. പാണച്ചി, പാട്ടി fem. പാണനാര്‍ N. pr. a low-caste sage തിരുവരി യഴങ്കത്തുവാണെഴും പാ.

pappāδi (പാതി) By halves— പ. യാ ക്ക to bisect. പപ്പായം (Hayti: Papaya) Carica papaya, also കര്‍മ്മോസ. — ആണ്‍ പ. the male tree.

piǹ 5.(C Te. also T. Te. വെന്‍, C. ben; Te. pin, young). 1. The back-side (opp. മുന്‍). 2. behind, after പിന്നുണ്ടോ ജീവിക്കുന്നു KR. pāmsu √ (C. Te. pāṇču dirt) Dust പാ. കൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ച വഴി VCh. പാംസുലന്‍ soiled, unchaste.

paraġaδi S. (പരം 3.). Bliss എല്ലാ ര്‍ക്കും ഗുരു തന്നേ പരയായുള്ള ഗതി KR. പരജന്മം another birth. പരജാതന്‍ a bastard, Bhr. പരജാതി a foreign tribe, other caste. പരണി Tdbh.; ഭരണി A vase, jar. പരണി ക്കിണ്ണം an earthen plate. പരണ്‍ T. So., also പരണ a loft under the roof, rude ceiling; a frame for drying something over the fire-place.

pīččuγa T. So. 1. (C. pīrču to suck in). To squirt, syringe. 2. (T. പിയ്ക്ക) * to tug, tear in pieces V1., prepare wool for carding V2. തലമുടി പീച്ചല്‍ a tug by the hair. തല്ലിപ്പീച്ചുക to flog hard. 3. v. n. പീച്ചി പ്പോക to stagger (loc. = ചാളുക), of chirping sound വണ്ണാത്തിപ്പുള്‍ പീച്ചിയാല്‍പെണ്‍തിരളും (superst.)
