bhūrǰam & bhūrǰapatram S. A birch-tree, the bark of which was used for writing, & for winding round the Hooka-snake (vu. ഭുജപത്രം).

bhaṭṭaǹ S. (= ഭര്‍ത്താ). Lord, title of learned Brahmans, (Tdbh. പട്ടര്‍). ഭട്ടതിരി, vu. പട്ടേരി the highest class of Kēraḷa Brahmans; also called ഭട്ടാചാര്യര്‍ teachers of philosophy, who restored Brahmanism after the Bauddha rule KU. — ഭട്ടാ ചാര്യന്‍gen. = Kumārilabhaṭṭa.

bhavikka (S. ഭൂ). 1. To become, to be = ഉണ്ടാക f. i. പതിക്കോരാപത്തു ഭവിക്കും എന്ന വള്‍ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു KR. to happen. 2. auxV. ആ യിഭവിക്ക = ആയ്തീരുക, ചമക. — നിന്നാല്‍ ജ ഗത്തിന്നു ഭ. പ്പെടുന്നു സുഖം ChVr. = simpl. CV. പുല്ലിംഗയോഗം ഭവിപ്പിക്ക Si Pu. to change into a male. ഭവിച്ചായം (see ആയം) futurity. എന്തുവാന്‍ ഭ. Nal. = എന്ത് ആയം ഭവിച്ചാലും whatever may betide. ഭവിതവ്യം S. what is to be നീക്കാവതല്ല ഭ. ഒടുങ്ങുവോളം Anj. ഭവിഷ്യത്തു S. (part. fut. n.). future, futurity ഭ'ത്തെന്തോ; ഇതത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭ. the fate that awaits you. വഴിക്കേടില്‍ (or കെട്ടു) നട ന്നവര്‍ക്കു വരുന്ന ഭ. ഇങ്ങനേ തന്നേ vu. ഭവിഷ്യം S. adj. future ഭൂതവും ഭ'വും വര്‍ത്തമാ നവും ഇല്ല Vēdāntavak. ശേഷമുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും വരുന്ന ഭ. ഇപ്രകാരം തന്നേ TR.; ഭവിഷ്യ ജ്ഞാനം Bhg. foreknowledge. ഭവിഷ്യരാം മാഗധന്മാര്‍ Bhg. ഭവ്യം S. 1. present ഭൂതവും ഭവ്യവും മേലില്‍ വരു ന്നതും AR. 2. = ആകുന്ന being as it ought to be, right, proper. ഭവ്യരാം അമാത്യന്മാര്‍ PT. = മന്ത്രിശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാര്‍; also vu. അവന്‍

bhaġaṇam S. (ഭം a star, fr. ഭാ). The host of stars, zodiac; also = 1/12 രാശി (astr.). ചതുര്‍യ്യുഗത്തിങ്കലേ ഭഗണഭൂദിനങ്ങള്‍, തികഞ്ഞ ഭ'ങ്ങള്‍ ഉളവാകും Gan. ഭഗണന്‍ an astrologer, ജാതകഫലം ചൊല്ലി ഓരോരോ ഭ'ന്മാര്‍ KR. (prh. ഭാഗണന്‍?). ഭഗവതി, ഭഗവാന്‍, see ഭഗം. ഭഗിനി S. (the happy) a sister. ഭഗീരഥന്‍ N. pr. a king that brought Gauga from heaven down to the earth. Brhmd. — ഭഗീരഥപ്രയത്നംപോലേ prov. of Herculean tasks.

bhōškụ (see prec. & പൊയി. In S. ഭോഷ്കാരം wind from behind). Lie ഭോഷ്ക്കുണ്ടാ ക്കി PT,; സൈരന്ധ്രി എന്നൊരു ഭോ. പറഞ്ഞ തും Nal.; തവ കീര്‍ത്തികള്‍ ഒക്കയും ഭോഷ്കെന്നു ള്ളതു നിശ്ചയം KR. — ഭോഷ്കല്ല truly (inserted any where f. i.) നിന്നാണ ഭോഷ്കല്ലേതും Nal. ആ ഭാരം ഭോ'ല്ല നിണക്കു മുഴുത്ത പാരം CC.

bhāvam S. (ഭൂ, ഭവ ). 1. Coming into existence രണ്ടാം ഭാവേ, മൂന്നാം ഭാ. SiPu. = ജന്മം.

bhūšaṇam S. Decorating; ornament മരുന്നുപെട്ടി വന്നതുകൊണ്ടു വളരേ ഭൂ. ഉണ്ടാ യി TR. helped to perfect the feast. നമ്മുടെ മാനമര്യാദ പോലേ നടത്തി തരുന്നതല്ലോ കു ന്പഞ്ഞിക്കു ഭൂ. TR.; ആയ്ത് ഒക്കയും അങ്ങേക്കു ഭൂ. എന്നുവെച്ചാല്‍ എനിക്കും ഭൂ. തന്നേ (epist.). ദൂ ഷണം പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ അതും ഒരു ഭൂ. Bhg. ഭൂഷ S. id. ഭൂഷാദികല്പനം Nal. inventing ornaments. ഭൂഷിതം S. bhaktam S. (part. pass, of ഭജ്). Apportioned; a meal = ചോറു. ഭക്തന്‍ attached, devoted, in Cpds. as ശിവഭ. or നീലകണ്ഠന്‍റെ ഭ. Si Pu. his devout worshipper. തന്നുടെ ഭ. Bhr. ദേവിയുടെ ഭ.
