mānātti Foreign washerman. (മൈ നാത്തന്‍ m. — ത്തി f.; also വൈ — & വയി — in Mahe).

metta 5. (മെതു & മെത്തു = മൃദു). 1. A matrass, bedding, quilt അതിമനോഹരമായ മെ. യില്‍ ശയിക്ക KR. നന്മലര്‍ മെ. തന്മേല്‍ Bhr. 2. a terrace. 3. a lever = ചന്ന Palg. — അവന്‍ പത്താള്‍ക്ക് ഒരു മെ prov. (see മെ ത്തുക). മെത്തപ്പായി a double mat (made of കൈതോ ല boiled in milk & water), the upper one being much finer than the lower, So. = അ ച്ചിപ്പായി No. മെത്തശ്ശീല bedding. മെത്താരണ B. a raised place to sleep on.

mūr̀uγa No. = മൂരുക II. f. i. കറിക്കു മൂ. To cut up vegetables. മൂര്‍വ്വ S. = പെരുങ്കരുന്പ, വെള്ളോവരം.

močča 1. A light coloured monkey. 2. T. So. a Dolichos tetraspermus, B. മൊച്ച ക്കൊട്ട its peas (No. മൊച്ചക്കൊട്ടപ്പയറു = അ വര). മോച്ചന്‍ (മൂത്ത?) 1. an old man, a big person (loc). 2. Palg. = നൊച്ചെലി, നച്ചെലി. മൊച്ചിങ്ങ, see under മുച്ചി.

maǹǰāḍi 5., also മഞ്ചാടിക്കുരു. A bean of the Adenanthera pavonina, weighing 4 grains, used as goldsmith's weight മ. ത്തൂക്കം = ൨ കുന്നി CS. മ. യിട for weighing diamonds; മ. നിറം കൊള്ളും ചെഞ്ചോരിവായ്മലര്‍ KR. മഞ്ചാരി (= മണ്‍ ചാരി). No. wood facing, joined to door-frames, വളകുമ. another kind.

mūssaδụ (fr. മൂത്തതു q. v. & below it). A lower division of Brahmans = ഊരിലേ പ രിഷ 151 who have left the കര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍ക്കാധി ക്യം to others & with Parašu Rāma's sins have taken on themselves the secular power ഭൂ മിക്കാധിക്യം — Brahmans who practise surgery are ranking with them.

maḍambụ M. (aC. Te. maḍame, see മ ടക്കു 2.). 1. The heel മടന്പൂന്നിപ്പണിപ്പെട്ടു ന ടപ്പാറുണ്ടു med. walking on the heels. 2. blunt edge, the back of a knife (= മാടു). മടന്പിരിന്പു the metal heel of a musket. മടന്പില്ലാതോര ന്പു Bhg.
