šrōṇam S. = ശോണ, f. i. നല്ലൊരു ശ്രോ. എന്ന നദവും കാണലാം KR.; (— ന്‍ S. lame).

šauṇ/?/aǹ S. (ശുണ്ഡ). Drunk, smart — മന്നവന്‍ തന്നുടെശൌണ്ഡത കാട്ടുവാന്‍ CG.; also ശൌണ്ഡ്യരാം൦ പാണ്ഡ്യമഹീഷര്‍‍ CG. ശൌണ്ഡികന് S. a distiller & vendor of liquors മദ്യം ചമച്ചുവില്ക്കന്നശൌ'ന്മാര്‍ KR. — ശൌ' ക = തീയത്തി.

šrī S. (Ceres). 1. Lakshmi, the goddess of plenty ശ്രീഭ്രമിമാരായി മേവുന്ന ദേവിമാര്‍ CG.

šōpham S. & ശോഥം Swelling (ശ്വി). ശോഫഗുന്മം a. med. Leucophlegmathia.

šrēyas S. (ശ്രീ). 1. Better, best. ശ്രേയാന്‍ m. 2. prosperity, happiness തങ്ങ ളെ ശ്രേ. ൦ഗുണങ്ങളും കേട്ടു, നമുക്ക് അതു കൊ ണ്ടു ശ്രേ. വരേണം TR. ശ്രേ. ഉണ്ടാക ഭവാനു KR. ശ്രേയസ്സുളില്‍ ഒന്നു മുഖ്യം Bhg. the highest good (=പുരുഷാര്‍ത്ഥം) is ഭക്തി. ശ്രേഷ്ഠം S. (Superl.) best, superior; മുനിശ്രേ ഷ്ഠന്‍ etc. ശ്രേഷ്ഠത,— ത്വം S. excellency, superiority. ശ്രേഷ്ഠി S. the head-man of a trade or art ശ്രേ. വര്‍ത്തകന്‍ Mud. (hence ചെട്ടി 380.). ശ്രേ. യും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു Nal. the merchant (hon.). — സര്‍വ്വനഗരശ്രേഷ്ഠ്യം (S. superiority) Mud. authority over.

šlēam S. (ശ്ലിഷ്). 1. Contact, embrace. 2. association, paronomasia, irony ശ്ലേഷവാക്യം, — കാവ്യം. ശ്ലേഷ്മം S. phlegm = കഫം (in the human body ആറു നാഴി VCh.). ചുലേണ്ണം, ചിലേഴ് മ്മം a. med.; also ശ്ലേ'ത്തിന്നും പററിയാല്‍ Nid. 20 ജാതിയുള്ള ശ്ലേ'ത്തിന്നും ഇരിപ്പിടം ദേ ഹം AdwS. ശ്ലേഷ്മജ്വരം phlegmatic fever, — നാഡി low pulse, — വ്യധി phthisis. ശ്ലേഷ്മാതകം S. Cordia myxa = നറുവരി f. i. ശ്ലേ. കൊണ്ട് ഒരു യൂപം KR.
