čakkara (Tdbh.; ശര്‍ക്കര) Jaggory, palm-sugar. ച'ക്ക് അകവും പുറവും ഒക്കും, ആനെ ക്കു ച. പന prov. (ആനച്ചക്കര a creeper eaten by elephants). Hence: ചക്കരക്കത്തിക്കാരന്‍ see കത്തി. ചക്കരക്കള്ളു toddy for making sugar (called ചക്കരക്കട്ടി). ചക്കരക്കള്ളന്‍ a red ant. ചക്കരപ്പാവു B. raw sugar, syrup; the inspissated palmyra-juice. Palg. ചക്കരപ്പൊട്ടിക്ക = ഞെട്ടാഞെടുങ്ങു.

čāǹǰāḍuγa (either ചാഞ്ഞു + ആടു ക or ചാണ്‍ + ചാടുക) 1. čiraṭṭa P. M. (& ച V1., C. കരട) Cocoanut-shell, chiefly the lower half ആണ്മുറി, മൂക്കിന്മുറി; used for firing ചിരട്ടത്തീയിട്ടു a med. (ചി'ത്തീക്കൊത്ത ചൂടു intense heat; — കാണി ക്ക met. to energize). ചിരട്ടക്കരി B.; for begging അവന്‍ ൨ കൈയിലും നാലു ചി. പിടിച്ചു പോകും (curse); for drinking ചിരട്ടക്കള്ളെണ്ണി ക്കയറും TP. — മുട്ടിന്‍ ചിരട്ട the knee-pan.
