ańǰanam S. (അഞ്ജ് anoint) Ointment, chiefly of eyes, lampblack, antimony (പുഷ്പാ ഞ്ചനം brass calx, രക്താഞ്ചനം, നീല അ. ഹേമ അ.. a/?/med. സ്രോതാഞ്ജനം GP. etc.) അഞ്ജനക്കല്ല് antimony sulphurate GP 75. used med. and to discover thefts or treasure; hence അഞ്ജനം പാര്‍ക്ക or കൈക്ക് അ. ഇട്ടിട്ടു നോക്കുക. അഞ്ജനക്കാരന്‍ a uror. അഞ്ജനവര്‍ണ്ണന്‍, അഞ്ചനവര്‍ണ്ണന്‍ C/?/ishṇa, = കാ ര്‍വര്‍ണ്ണന്‍ CG.

aḍaṇṇuγa 5. (√ അടു) v. n. 1. To be pressed down, enclosed, contained. ചോറ ടങ്ങി is swallowed. വാരിധിക്കുള്ളില്‍ അടങ്ങിയ ഭൂമി Mud. enclosed by the sea. കുടയില്‍ അടങ്ങി took shelter under. മൂവര്‍ ഒരു കുടക്കീഴ് അട ങ്ങുമൊ. 2. to submit, yield, be possessed, ruled. അവള്‍അടങ്ങി yielded. കുന്പഞ്ഞിയിലേ ക്ക് അടങ്ങെണ്ട ചുങ്കം TR. (= അടയുക). വസ്തു വക ദേവസ്വത്തില്‍ അടങ്ങി പോന്നു TR. പറ ന്പടങ്ങുന്നില്ല does not yield. 3. be controlled, proportioned; കുടെക്ക് അടങ്ങിയ വടി (prov.) വെററിലക്കെടങ്ങാത്ത അടക്ക ഇല്ല. prov. 4. be allayed, calmed. എന്നാല്‍ ചുമ അടങ്ങും a med. (= ഇളെക്കും). നിന്നെ തിന്നാല്‍ വിശപ്പട ങ്ങും UR. മന്ദം അടങ്ങുന്ന കോപം Mud. 5. to rest, cease, be silent; ശ്വാസം അടങ്ങി died. നിന്നുടെ രൂപം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചടങ്ങി പിതാമപന്‍ എ ന്നു തോന്നീടും KR. എന്നടങ്ങി, ഉരെത്തടങ്ങും; നീ എന്തടങ്ങിനില്ക്കുന്നു KR. why standest thou silent. കേട്ടടങ്ങീടേണം listen attentively. അ ധികാരംവെച്ചടങ്ങി പാര്‍ക്ക Mud. liveretired. വി ല്ലു വെച്ചടങ്ങിയാന്‍ Bhr. gave up the job. ആ യുധങ്ങള്‍ അടങ്ങി വസിക്കുന്നു Nal. rust from peace. വാതില്‍അടങ്ങി ചാരികൊള്‍ക shut gently. അടങ്ങ Inf. aḍayuγa T. M. C. (അട) n. v. 1. To be shut, shut up മൂത്രദ്വാരം അടഞ്ഞു Nid. വാതില്‍ അടഞ്ഞില്ല would not shut. ചെകിടട യും Bhr. the ear is stunned. 2. to be enclosed, get into, come into possession. എനിക്കു കടം, പൊലു etc. അടഞ്ഞു പോയി I have received. (= തന്നു ബോധിച്ചു), esp. of the collection of texes. നികിതി നേരായി വന്നടയും TR. ഗഡുവിന്നു (കിസ്തിന്ന്) അടയാത്ത പണം etc. (sometimes = അടങ്ങുക). 3. a. v.
