ēṇụ (T. firmness) C. M. Edge, chiefly the 3 edges of the cocoanut (T. ചേണി). ചി രട്ടയുടെ ഏണും ചെകരിയും ചുവന്നു കണ്ടാല്‍ ഏണു പഴുത്ത തേങ്ങ a cocoanut of 8 months' growth.

kāččuγa (T. കായ്ച്ചു Te. C. കാസു from കായി). 1. To warm, boil. വെള്ളം കാച്ചാന്‍ TR. കാച്ചിയ നീരില്‍ സേവിക്ക a med. കാച്ചിന ജലംകൊണ്ടു കുളിച്ചു VCh. കള്‍കാ. to distil. എ ണ്ണകാച്ചി എടുക്ക etc. അതിന്നു നെയി കാച്ചുവാന്‍ മരുന്നു MM. കാച്ചികുത്തുക (see കിഴി).— കാ ച്ചിയോ പഴുത്തതോ ripening or ripe? (So. കാച്ചി green paddy B.) 2. to cauterize. കേടിന്നു തക്കവാറുകാ. (in cancer). വെള്ളിക്കോല്‍ കൊണ്ടു കാ. a med. ഇരിന്പുകൊണ്ടു കാച്ചി (a snake-bite). — (loc.) to flog. čakka T.M. (Tdbh; ചക്രം) l. A big round fruit as of Artocarpus (പിലാവു), Ananas (കൈ ത —), bread-fruit (ദ്വീപുച. or ബന്പുച.), wild Artocarpus (മലഞ്ച.); ആത്തി q. v. ച; ആയി നിച്ച.; കാട്ടുച. Rh. = കടന്പു; ചിരച്ച. ഒരുത്തരു ടെ ചക്കയും തേങ്ങയും കട്ടിട്ടില്ല vu. ചക്കെക്കു തേങ്ങാ കൊണ്ടിട്ടും കൂട്ടേണം prov. Stages of growth of the jack-fruit: പൂതല്‍ No. or ചാവല്‍. q.v., ഇടിച്ചക്ക GP. see ഇടി, തറിച്ച. see തറി or കൊത്തഞ്ച. So. Hence: ചക്ക കാട്ടുക motion of insult made with the hand B. ചക്കച്ചങ്ക്രാന്തി or കലിയഞ്ച ങ്ക്രാന്തി the last day of Mithunam. ചക്കപ്രഥമന്‍ a condiment with jack-fruit. ചക്കമുള്ളു rough rind of jack-fruit. = കരിമുള്‍ q.v. ചക്കമുള്ളന്‍ a bracelet like it.

tulayuγa (C. Te. Tu. തൊല്ഗു to move away) 1. aM. To be shaken = ഉലയുക, f. i. അര ക്കര്‍ ഉള്ളം തുലയുമാറു, അവനോടഞ്ചിത്തുലെന്ത് അകലവാങ്ങി RC. 2. to be at an end, വലി യോരുടന്‍ചെന്നാല്‍ തുലയും ദു:ഖം നൂനം PT.; വൃണം പഴുത്തു തു. Nid. (= തീരുക), so പാപം തു. Palg. — കണ്പു നല്‍ തുളുന്പു തുലെന്ത ചോകം RC grief, mitigated by tears. അവന്‍ തുലഞ്ഞു പോയി I got rid of him, (so തുലെന്ത ശൂര്‍പ്പണ ക RC.); euph. he died. VN. തുലച്ചല്‍ B. end, difficulty, prh. = തോല്വി; as തുലവു id., തുലയിവു നിശിചരന്നാക്കി നാന്‍ അന്പിനാന്‍ RC. a. v. തുലെക്ക (to drive away?), to consume, finish, അച്ചൊല്‍ മെയ്യെന്നുമാറു തുലെത്തനന്‍ കതൃത്തവരെ RC.

tēṇṇa & തേങ്ങ, (തെങ്ങങ്കായി). A cocoanut, ൧ഠഠഠ തേങ്ങക്കു ൧ഠ ഉറുപ്യ വില ക ണ്ടു TR. (in 1798). The fruit has many stages ഇളന്നീര്‍, ഇളന്തേങ്ങ, പഴുത്തതു, വരണ്ടതു, കൊട്ട, കുരുത്തിട്ടതു GP 69. കരിക്കു, കൂരിത്തേങ്ങ. — Its parts: തേങ്ങക്കണ്ണു, — ക്കുടുക്ക, — നൈ, — പ്പാല്‍ (തേങ്ങാപ്പാല്‍ വൃഷ്യം GP.), — പ്പിണ്ണാ ക്കു (or — പ്പീര), തേങ്ങാവെള്ളം (തണുത്തുള്ളു GP.). — obsc. pudend. muliebre. — Kinds: അക്കില്‍വാരി — or കടല്‍ത്തേ. Lodoicea Sechell. — ചെന്തേ. q. v. തേങ്ങത്തൊണ്ടു an empty cocoanut. തേങ്ങാണി vu. nuri (C. to granulate; നു൪ dust?) 1. what 3 fingers can hold; a bunch of rice plants & the space required to plant them നുരിയും നു രിയിടയും (doc.) MR. നുരിയുട പഴുതും doc. ക ണ്ടത്തുകൊണ്ട നുരി കുത്തി TP. = 3—4 ഞാ൪ ഒന്നി ച്ചു നടുക. — നുരിവെക്ക to drop seed-paddy into fresh made furrows, either a., Trav. No. closely (for transplantation), or b., No. at large intervals (in fields full of വരിനെല്ലു to distinguish it from the same when grown up) = കരിച്ചാ ലില്‍ നുരിയിടുക. 2. B. pa/?/ukka T. M. C. (Te. paṇḍu) 1. To grow old, ripe, പത്രം പ. Bhr.; പഴുത്ത പഴം ripe fruit, കുല പഴുക്കുന്പോള്‍ സങ്ക്രാന്തി, പഴു ക്കാന്‍ മൂത്താല്‍ പറിക്ക prov.; പ. വെക്ക to put fruits in straw (= പഴുപ്പിക്ക). 2. to become well tempered, red-hot. പ. ച്ചുടുക to roast well, എരിയുന്ന തീയില്‍ പഴുത്ത നാരാചം KR. 3. to suppurate പുണ്‍ പഴുക്കില്‍ MM. 4. to decay. പഴുത്തില a dried leaf, ദേഹം പഴു ത്തു പോയീടും KR. = പഴകി. പഴുത്തില hon. for betel, when Nāyars speak to Brahmans, Tīyars to Nāyars, etc. (see 4). VN. പഴുപ്പു 1. ripening of fruit, blighting of corn. പ. ചെന്നതു V2. overripe. 2. becoming tender, red-hot. മുഖം പ. thrush (S. മു ഖ പാകം). മനസ്സിന്‍റെ പ. V1. contrition. CV. പഴുപ്പിക്ക 1. to ripen artificially as പഴം, to heat as ഇരിന്പു, to accustom, inure. 2. മുഖം പഴുപ്പിക്ക No. actors personating women having their faces dyed with red arsenic (see മനയോല under മനം). പഴുപഴുക്ക to be discoloured; പ'പ്പു yellowness of face V1. = പകുക്കു To divide. കെരന്തം (= ഗ്ര ന്ഥം) പഴുത്തു നോക്കുന്നേരം TP. to open a book indifferently in order to find an oracle (in the 7th letter of the 7th line). പഴുതി MR. = പകുതി.
