puḷi 5. (Te. Tu. puli, Tu. puḷi bitter, C. puṇi tamarind). 1. Sourness, acidity മോരിലേ പു. prov. ഉവര്‍പ്പു. of saltwater; any fermentation. 2. any acid ചോനകനാരങ്ങപ്പുളിയില്‍ അരെച്ചു a. med. — ഐന്പുളി: a. tamarind (see 3.). b. കോ ല്‍പ്പു. a leaf. c. അന്പാഴം Spondias. d. നാരകം e. വരിച്ചികം Hibiscus or ഞെരിങ്ങാന്പു. Other kinds: കുടന്പു. (ഒണ്ടന്പു. a. med. Garcinia cambogia, Rh.), ചതുരപ്പു. a Garcinia, പിണന്പു. 660. (പുനന്പു. & കാട്ടുപു.). 3. tamarind, Tamarindus Indica, called മരപ്പു.
