H. dōpaṭṭā A veil or linen sheet of two breadths (C. Te. Tu. ദു —), a cloak, fringed B., 16 cubits long V1. തുപ്പട്ടി a mantle or sheet.

taṇaṇṇụ B. —ണു— Green cocoanut- or areca-palm-leaves കഴുങ്ങിന്‍ പാളത്ത ണ്ടു=No. മാച്ചില്‍പട്ട. തണുങ്ങ് മാച്ചില്‍=No. പട്ടമാച്ചില്‍. തണപ്പു=ദശപ്പു being fleshy.

tiktam S. (part. of തിജ്) Bitter. തിഗ്മം sharp, തി'മാംഖള്‍ഗം HNK., തിഗ്മശരം RS.; violent, flery.

tūlkuγa aM. To sweep = തുവര്‍ത്തു ക, തൂക്കുക I., (only V1.)

teḷḷuγa T. M. (തെള്‍) 1. To sift or winnow by casting up gently in a fan. (പൊ ന്‍) ഇടിച്ചുതെള്ളിക്കൊള്‍ക TP., a. med. to separate what is fine & coarse. 2, to jump, നെ ഞ്ഞത്തു, വയററില്‍നിന്നു തെ. to heave, pant, to be disturbed. VN. തെള്ളല്‍ winnowing. തെള്ളി 1. sifted powder. 2. sifted resin (= കീല്‍. V2.) CV. തെള്ളിക്ക to get sifted, as കുമ്മായം, കാപ്പി.

tailam S. (തിലം) 1. Sesam-oil, തില ത്തിലേത്തൈലം GP. 2. oil, medic, oil. തൈലക്കാരന്‍ an apothecary. തൈലധാര constant dripping of oil (med.).

toṭṭi T. M. C. Te. 1. A trough of stone or wood, manger, font. 2. a long narrow garden; the loft in a house V1. 3. = തൊട്ടില്‍, as തൊ ട്ടിക്കട്ടില്‍. a cradle.

toḍuγa T. M. (C. തുഡുകു; for Te. Tu. see തൊടുക്ക) 1. To touoh. തൊട്ടുതൊട്ടില്ല എ ന്ന പോലേ now seizing, now leaving again. തൊട്ടുമിനുക്കി നടന്നാല്‍ പോരാ a trifler, that touches oil, smears it on his body, has time for anything. തൊട്ടുതീണ്ടിത്തിന്നുന്നവന്‍. — ത ട്ടാന്‍ തൊട്ട അപരാധം (jewels) polluted by T.'s handling. പട്ടര്‍ തൊട്ട പെണ്ണും പട്ടാണി തൊ ട്ട ആനയും ആക prov. മാതാവിനെത്തന്നേ ചോദിച്ചനേരത്തു ലേകമാതാവിനെ തൊട്ടു കാ ട്ടി SG. pointed at. 2. to feel, handle, തൊ ട്ടുനോക്കുക. 3. to come into contact, commence. 4. (=തീണ്ടുക) to bite, sting. B. VN.തൊടല്‍ touching, being close; (also a chain =തുടല്‍, തൊ. ഇടുക V1.) തൊടവു see തുടകു. തൊടി, (T. തൊടു=തോട്ടം) a garden, parambu തൊടികളിലും വീടുകളിലും Arb.; also തൊ ടിക, (മാടോടിയ തൊ. prov.) തൊടുകയറു a rope with a halter for tying cows V1. തൊടുകുറി a mark on the forehead കുങ്കുമം കൊ ണ്ടു തൊ. യിട്ടുണ്ടു, നെററിമേല്‍ ചേര്‍ത്ത തൊ. CG. — met. പാരിടത്തിന്നു തൊ. എന്നതുപോ ലേ Bhr. a town, which is the brightest spot of the earth. തൊടുക്കാര, (&തൊടുവക്കാര) a timber-tree, Dalbergia, S. ചിത്രകൃല്‍; prh. Uvaria? തൊടുക്കാരം, (better തൊടക്കാരം see തു —) contact. തൊടക്കാരം തീര്‍ക്ക So. = തീണ്ടല്‍ ഉള്ള തു അകററുക, തൊടുവാശി q. v. തീര്‍ക്ക No.; met. to remove, what causes unpleasantness. തൊടുതി quarrel, conflict. തൊടുപണയം = ചൂണ്ടിപ്പണയം. തൊടുവ, (B. തൊടുക, T. തൊടുവു = തൊടി) enclosure, compound; hence തൊടുവക്കളം N. pr. a temple in Kōṭṭayagattu. KU. തൊടുവാശി contact. തൊ. തീര്‍ക്ക to avoid touching, what may be infected; to get removed, what infects തൊടുക്കാരം q.v. CV. തൊടുവിക്ക to make to touch, പുരയും കു ടിയും തൊടീക്കാതേ No. vu. prevent from touching; to make a mark with Sandal. തൊട്ടാലൊട്ടി an ear-snake, തൊ. ചവിട്ടിത്തേച്ച പോലേ prov.
