tṛδīyam S. (ത്രി ) Third. തൃതീയ (gramm.) The dative case; (astr.) the third day of the lunar fortnight. (തൃ): തൃത്താലിച്ചാര്‍ത്തു a Kshatriya marriage. തൃത്താവു (prob. താഴ്വു, the basin which holds the holy plant). Ocymum sanctum, തുളസി, also called നല്ല തൃ. (&തൃത്വാ അരി a. med.) Kinds: കരിന്തൃ. (=കൃഷ്ണതുളസി), കാട്ടു — GP. Ocymum gratissimum, തുളസി തൃ. Oo. basilicum. തൃത്താക്കുരുവപ്പന്‍ No. (ഗുരു) = മാദേവര്‍. A small obelisk (Phallos?) of ചേടിമണ്‍, placed on the ചൂത്തറ of each house (10 days for Ōṇam & 2 for Maγam) in commemoration, it is said, of the great prosperity under king Mahābali.

tilam S. Sesamum Indicum = എള്‍; തില മാത്രം = എള്‍ പ്രമാണം; തിലഹോമം PR. തിലകം 1. a natural mark on the body (മറു). 2. an ornamental mark on the forehead തൊ ടുകുറി). കുങ്കുമത്തിലകം തൊട്ടു Bhr. (a woman dressing). പച്ചത്തി. ആക്കുക tattooing. 3. the ornament or chiefest of its kind, കുലതി ലകന്‍, മനുജവരമണിമകുടതിലകന്‍ Bhr. തിലകിതം (തിലകം 2.) marked with Tilakam, തിലകിതഫാലം Bhr.; (തി. 3) ശുകകുലവിമ ലതിലകിതകളേബരേ AR. തിലജം = തൈലം oil, തിലജദ്രോണിയിന്നെടു ത്തു ഭൂപനേ KR.; so തിലരസം AR. oil. തിലോത്തമ N. pr. a celestial woman, that possesses all perfections in extracts of each to the size of a sesam-grain. Bhr. തിലോദകം Sesam & water offered to ancestors. തിലാവം vu. = തുലാവം A beam.

tuńǰuγa 1. T. So. To be entangled, to sleep, die. 2. to remain, as money in the pocket, തന്പിമാര്‍ ൫ പേര്‍ തുഞ്ചിനാര്‍ Bhr. (=തഞ്ചുക). തുഞ്ചാരം No. balance, f.i. 5 ഉറുപ്പികയോളം തു. ഉണ്ടു.

taḍastham S. (തടം) 1. standing on the shore, ത'മായി നോക്കുന്നവന്‍ a by-stander, neutral spectator. 2. mediation തടത്തം പ റക V1., അനന്തരവന്മാര്‍ തടസ്ഥം ചെയ്ക MR. 3. = തടസ്സു q. v. തടസ്ഥത പറക to arbitrate. തടസ്ഥത്വം mediation. ത. പറക, പിടിക്ക etc. ത. എന്നുള്ള മാര്‍ഗ്ഗം ഫലം ചെയ്കയില്ല Nal. തടസ്ഥന്‍ a neutral, mediator, juryman.

trairāšiγam S. (ത്രി). The rule of three (തള്ള, പിള്ള, പെറുവാള്‍). — വൃസ്ത ത്രൈ. the inverted rule CS. ത്രൈലോകൃം = ത്രിലോകം, f. i. ത്രൈ'ത്തെ ര ക്ഷിച്ചു Bhg.; ത്രൈ'ങ്ങളും ഒന്നിച്ചു KR. — ത്രൈ'കൃകണ്ടന്‍ AR. Rāvaṇa.

Kinds: കടു ന്തു., കുറുന്തു., നെടുന്തു.— It is shaped like an hourglass, hence തുടിയിടപോലോരരയില്‍ DN.; തുടിയിട പോലേ വടിവുടയൊരു പിടിനടു KR.; പൊററുടി (= പൊല്‍ തുടി) നടുവിനു നേ൪ RC. — ഉരലിനു മുറിച്ചാലേ തുടിക്കു കണക്കാവു prov. — തുടി മുട്ടിക്കൊണേടു നടക്കു to publish a secret. തുടിയടിക്ക, കൊട്ടുക to proclaim. 2. T. So. cardamoms. 3. a measure, (S. ത്രുടി = 30 അ ല്പം). മുപ്പതു തുടിക്കൊരു കല എന്നതും ചൊല്ലും Bhg. 3. = തുടിപ്പു. തുടിംപാളക്കിഴങ്ങു an Epidendron, esp. on Strychnos (= പറകെട്ടി).
