paṇḍam T. M. 1. (Tdbh.; പണ്യം) Valuables, jewels, that may serve as pawn (often = പണയം), as പൊന്‍പ. etc. 2. articles in general, ഉഴവുകൊണ്ടു പോയാക്കേണ്ടുന്ന പ. ഇവന്‍ PT. an ox; തിന്നുന്ന പ. & തീന്‍ പ. eatables. ദീവില്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതില്‍ പ. കൊണ്ടു വന്നു, ഓടിയില്‍ ഉള്ള തീന്‍ പ. കിഴിപ്പാന്‍ TR. the produce of the Laccadives = ചരക്കു (in Te. is paṇṭa produce, crop fr. പണ്‍ = പഴുക്ക). 3. (Tdbh. of ഭാണ്ഡം?) the crop of birds, stomach, craw തീന്‍ പ. V1.; ചത്ത ഉടുന്പിന്‍റെ പ. MM. (fr. പള്ള.). പണ്ടം അറുതിയായി (1) the sum advanced on a pawn with the interest due equalling the value of the article, = is forfeited. പണ്ടകം = പണ്ടംകൂറുള്ള ദ്രവ്യം V1. പണ്ടകശാല & പണ്ടശാല (T.) = പാണ്ടിശാ ല a storehouse, magazine. പണ്ടക്കായി, പണ്ടപ്പന see under പന. പണ്ടപ്പരപ്പു B. lying about like utensils; extensiveness.

pāṇḍam A piece of cocoanut-fibres പച്ചപ്പാ. കൊണ്ടു കെട്ടിച്ചു (= തേങ്ങാനാര്‍, ചേ രി see പാന്തം.

pūǰuγa T. M. Tu. (C. pūsu, Tu. pūju, Te. pūyu) & പൂശുക. 1. To smear, daub, rub (ചന്ദനം & other pastes). കുങ്കുമച്ചാറു പൂ ചുവാന്‍ KR. അതു നൂററിപ്പൂ ചുന്നു മെയ്യില്‍ CG. met. തെന്നല്‍ മാലേയം തന്മണം മെയ്യില്‍ പൂചി CG. has imbibed the fragrance. 2. to whitewash കുമ്മായം, വെള്ള — to plaster. — met. അ ല്പം പൂശി അയച്ചു tried to soften. 3. with പൊന്‍ to gild. ഇരുന്പില്‍ വെള്ളി പൂശി VyM. silvered. VN. I. പൂചല്‍ 1. smearing etc. പൂശലാക്കിക്ക ളക to hush up. 2. T. aM. പൂയല്‍ fighting RC. CV. പൂചിക്ക as കുഞ്ഞനെ ചന്ദനം പൂചിച്ചു TR. പൂചിപ്പെട്ടി a painted or gilt box KU. II. പൂച്ചു smearing RC., daub, coating (പൊന്‍ പൂ. gilding).

poyγa T. M. (C hoyu to ford) A pond, water-pool; (loc.) flower-garden, see പൊ ഴില്‍. — താമരപ്പൊയ്ക, etc. പൊയ്യ = പൂഴി loc. കൈക്കു ചോര പററീട്ടുളളതു പൊയ്യകൊണ്ടു തോര്‍ക്കുന്നു (Mpl.).

paṇḍụ T. M. (√ പഴ Te. paṇḍu to ripen, be accomplished) Antiquity. — പണ്ടു കീ ഴേ or പ. കഴിഞ്ഞതും പടയില്‍ ചത്തതും പറയേ ണ്ടാ No. — പണ്ടേ adv. ഈ മര്യാദ പണ്ടു പണ്ടേ

(so പൊട്ടക്കുഴി). പൊട്ടച്ചെവിയന്‍ deaf. പൊട്ടപ്പറന്പു No. = വെറും. പൊട്ടപ്പുല്ലു a kind of grass. പൊട്ട പറയാതേ RS. no nonsense! പൊട്ടയിടുക to smack. (No. നൊട്ട 2.)
