muḷaǹǹil V1., മുളഞ്ഞ B. The viscous juice of jack-fruits = വെളഞ്ഞീര്‍, also മുളിഞ്ഞീര്‍ V1.

māḍa 1. T. So. (മടങ്ങു). A cow with horns bent downwards. 2. മാടകള്‍ ഉരുകുന്പോള്‍ അതിയായി എരിഞ്ഞീടും KR. in a conflagration = മാടം or മേട.

mūṭṭuγa T. M. (T. മൂളുക to catch fire, see മുളി). 1. To kindle, nourish a fire തീ, വി റകു, ചണ്ടി മൂ.; to augment a quarrel V1. 2. to link, stitch together, patch, seam. തേങ്ങാ ക്കെട്ടിന്നവിടവിടേ മൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു TR. വല മൂ.

mōṇa Tu. M. (T. = മുന). Gums, snout. കുത്തുക gums to pain V1. മുറിക്ക; also മൂണ, മോഞ്ച; മോണമേല്‍ ഒരു രോഗം Nid. മോണയന്‍ m., — ണച്ചി f. (abuse.) മോണി, see മകണി. മോണു & മോണ്ടു കുടിക്ക No. f. i. an ഇളന്നീര്‍ — see മോകുക & മോന്തുക. മോണോലി Palg. Exh. a kind of paddy. മോണ്ടം V1. the porch of a church മുകമണ്ഡ പം.

maṭṭa T. C. Te. Tu. 1. A palm-branch, gen. മട്ടല്‍. മട്ടലിടിഞ്ഞാല്‍ തെങ്ങാക, മട്ടലെണ്ണംകു ല No. 2. a certain measure of length ഒരു മട്ടെക്ക൫II ചൂടി Mpl. Cann. (= മട്ടു?). മട്ടക്കണ a stick made of a cocoanut branch, (fishermen lose their caste, when struck, with it). അസ്സല്‍ ഉറുമിമ. മട്ടച്ചാരം ashes from palm-boughs as used by washermen.

mahā S. Great (മഹ), in many Cpds.; often contracted മാ; also with Mal. words, as മഹാകെട്ടവന്‍ very bad. മഹാകാളന്‍ S. the great black Siva, മഹാ കാളി f. his wife. മഹാകോടി ten trillions. മഹാഖര്‍വ്വം ten billions. മഹാഗുരു S. a most reverend person. മഹാജനം S. 1. multitude of people. 2. an eminent man. മഹാത്മാവു S. magnanimous; noble or learned. മഹാത്മാക്കളാധാരമായുള്ളവന്‍ Bhg. supported by the charitable. മഹാദേവന്‍ S. chiefly Siva; N. pr. m. — മഹാ ദേവി S. Pārvati. — (മഹാദേവര്‍ 808.). മഹാത്ഭുതം S. very wonderful. മഹാധനം S. great riches, costly. മഹാനദി S. a great river; N. pr. മഹാനസം S. a kitchen. മഹാനുഭാവന്‍ S. highly respected, most worthy person. മഹാന്‍ N. m. (മഹന്ത്) a great man. pl. മഹാ ന്മാര്‍ & മഹത്തുക്കള്‍. മഹാപാതകം S. = മഹാപാപം. മഹാഫലം S. rich in results (see ഭക്തി) SiPu., most efficacious. മഹാപുരാണം S. esp. Bhāgavatam. മഹാബലന്‍ S. very powerful. മഹാഭാഗന്‍ S. highly gifted, illustrious. മഹാഭാരതം S. the great epos. Bhr. മഹാമഖവേല S., vu. മാമാങ്ങം 1. the great feast of Kēraḷa celebrated during 28 days every 12th year (in കര്‍ക്കടവ്യാഴം see പൂയം) at Tirunāvāy; the throne was declared vacant & competitors admitted to fight for it, f. i. A.D. 1600 Jan. 30 Amorcos fell in cutting their way through the guards to the throne of Tāmūri; other records speak of the feast of 1695, the last seems to have been celebrated in 1743. മാമാകം കടവത്തു കണ്ട

muḍuγụ (C. Tu. shoulder). 1. Bracelet. 2. a woodbind to tie up sugarcanes.

mālinyam S. = മലിനത. Dirty condition മാ. ചേര്‍ത്ത പത്രിക തുടെച്ചാല്‍ VyM.; also മനസ്സില്‍ മാലിന്യത കൊണ്ടിരുട്ടാം VyM. ചേ തോദര്‍പ്പണത്തിന്‍റെ മാ. AR.

murayuγa B. To be weary, harassed. മുരയിക്ക to tease (fr. മുറ?). മുരരിപു, മുരവൈരി, മുരാരി S. Višṇu, as destroyer of a demon Mura. മുരാരിനാടകം N. pr. a drama played by Chākyār in temples. Its author മുരാരികവി is most venerated, (see bel.)
