māγaṇi C. No. M. (T. മാകാണം). Division of a district. മാകാണി T. M. = 1/16. മാ. പ്പലിശ a rate of interest calculated in grain (= 1/16 Iḍanga/?/i per annum on the value of a fanam).

mandu 1. S. (മന്‍). A device; fault. 2. Tdbh. (മഥ, മന്ഥ) a churn-staff അവള്‍ തന്മന്തുമാ യ്ചെന്നു, മ'മായി തയിര്‍ കടഞ്ഞു, മ. വലിക്ക CG. 3. So. a wooden beater; hence Elephantiasis കഷണ്ടിക്കും മന്തിന്നും ചികിത്സ ഇല്ല prov. maitram S. (മിത്ര). Friendship മൈ. മറന്നു RS.; also മൈത്യ്രം. മൈത്രി id. ഭൂസരന്‍റെയും മൈഥിലന് തന്‍റെ യും മൈ. യെ പൂരിപ്പാന്‍ CG. മൈ. രക്ഷി പ്പാന്‍ പണി KR. മൈത്രീകരം S. gaining friends AR. (the Rāmāyaṇa is said to be such).
