tiruδa V1. A fish (Port, tagana or tainha) caught in the monsoon at the mouth of rivers, with തിരുതവല No. തിരുതവിളി = ചിരുതവിളി in നിത്യക്കൊട്ടു നി യമവെടി അടിതളി തിരുതവിളി (song). തിരുതേവി N. pr. fem. (ശ്രീദേവി).

taṇal (തണ്‍) 1. Shade, shady spot ത. പ്പറന്പു = ചോല, മരത്തണലില്‍ ഇരിക്ക KR.; ത ണലത്തിരിക്ക.; met. വെന്തുന്ന എങ്ങള്‍ക്കു നിന്ത ണല്‍ CG. 2. shelter, protection (= നിഴല്‍) പ്രജകള്‍ക്കു ത. കൊടുത്തു TR. തണലാറുക, — ലിളെക്ക to cool oneself.

toḷḷu (cavity?) A maund of rice, gram, etc. = മൂട (loc.)

tūṇi T. M. S. 1. Quiver (Tu. aC. ദോ ണെ, in S. also തൂണം, √ തൂരുക). ശരം ഒടു ങ്ങാത തൂണി KR. ശരതൂണി, അന്പിടുതൂണി RC. 2. a measure of seed sufficient for 100 yards of rice-field, about 1½ Iḍangā/?/i (= 86,400 rice-grains W.). നെല്ല ൮ തൂണിക്ക് അരി ൫ പോരും നെല്ലു CS. paddy, which yields 5/8 rice. — തൂണിക്കൊട്ട a measuring basket.

tūpụ (I. തൂക്കുക 2, see തൂവല്‍ 3). Leaved branches, strewed for manure over theopened roots of trees & for wet cultivation, തുപ്പിടുക; തൂ. പറിച്ചുടുത്തു TP. — (the 4 തൂപ്പു: മാവു, ഏ ച്ചില്‍ത്താളി, മരുതു & either ഞാറല്‍ or ഞള്ളു.)
