pēr̀u T. M. (VN. of പെറുക). 1. Birth, bringing forth, as പേറുതാലം, പേററുതിങ്ങള്‍ the last month of pregnancy. പേററുനോവു, — പുര (= ൦രംററു —). പേററുമരുന്നു തീററുന്നു (midwives). പേറുഭരിക്ക So., പേറു വലിക്കുന്നവള്‍ Palg. a midwife. ഒന്നപ പെററു പേറുമാറി (a riddle) = വാഴ. പേറുമാറിയവള്‍ past child-bearing. 2. aM. what is obtained, deserved, = ഫലം, luck. പേറു പെറുക V1. to deserve. poḷi T. M. l. (=പെളി). A streak, split, chip. ഓടു പൊളി തീര്‍ക്ക to repair a roof; what is torn, as a palm-leaf, umbrella. കെട്ടും പൊളിമുറി cancelment of a deed which is not forthcoming.
